I was off the raw for a while and am in the process of getting back on. This is day number 3.
My hubby is making an elaborate Japanese dinner for himself and the kiddos, my daughter is having a friend over for a popcorn party and it is hard!
I have lots of yummy raw food ready to eat and I am eating it but still, it is so hard to resist the temptations. I know that eventually I will think that all cooked food smells and looks gross, I just need to get to that place again.
I just had some raw brownie and a juicy peach. Next on the list is a super green smoothies. There are pizza rolls in the dehydrator for tomorrow and a yummy spinach dip to dig into whenever I am ready for it.

My treat for Japanese food:
Jicama sliced really thin...use this for your wrapper.
line it with red pepper slices, cabbage shredded & carrots. Roll and dip in Nama Shoyu.
I'm so sorry...I totally understand. You can do this!:D

Just focus on how delicious and healthy your raw food is. Afterwards everyone will be stuffed and miserable and you will feel great!!!
One of the great things about the superior intelligence we have over other animals is our ability to make choices- you can either give in to INSTANT GRATIFICATION, or wake up tomorrow with a tremendous feeling of accomplishment and inner peace.
In the words of Aristotle- "We are what we repeatedly do- excellence then, is not an act, but a habit."
Are you a raw foodist:D or a SAD eater:( ?

My brother is working on my house and today he asked me to order some pizza for lunch!, I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO scared to because i LOVE pizza.
I did, I almost cried in the car, wanting to bust the box open and eat it so badly, BUT I DIDNT!.
I walked in the door, threw the box on the table said "ITS HERE" and grabbed an apple a banana and a peech! STARTED EATING UP! and ... I DIDNT WANT THE PIZZA!!!!!!!
I AM SO EXCITED FOR MYSELF!!!

That is awesome! I know that if you just focus on the fresh, you will be happy and not wanting the cooked. It's just making it a habit that will get you through. When it is a habit to say no to cooked, eventually you don't even think about it.

for me what works now is my previous experience of one cooked bite- months of SUFFERING AAAAAAA!!!!!! i mean, i KNOW if i try this one or that one thing..... it's going to go downward at that point.... and i'll try to get back to raw for weeks or even months. and i so don't want to stop the progress i'm making!
today i craved SOMETHING but i just went ahead and got broke as i bought a whole bunch of amazing pine nuts! they killed the cravings (and my weekend budget lol) but they're sooooooo worth it

Jennifer, congrats on day #3.
You're doing great...you're already there. Making raw pizza, brownies and everything. Just take it one day at a time...no added pressure on yourself.
A year into this, I still get emotional cravings for old cooked food favorites especially when I'm around my family!!!! Can I just say family is wonderful, but my goodness there are so many food associations. I'm always talking to myself when I'm at my mom's house...when they break out the "goodies". LOL. I do what you do....I just make sure I always have raw food handy or I will beeline it to the produce section before I visit my folks, armed with lots of fruit. :D

Mmmmm....raw brownies and fresh fruit! :)
You can do this...and think how much better you will feel eating raw!

Just remember, nothing tastes as good as raw feels. :-)

Congrats on 3 Days Raw, that is great.....
I know I'm a bit late but maybe this could help in the future.
How did it go?
My thoughts:
Don't get to stressed about it, I would suggest that you try to focus on what makes you feel good and why you decided to eat raw.
Ask yourself, if this food is providing benefits to you, if so what? Is this food helping me reach my goals? Is eating this food worth straying away from the goals I set for myself?
You might also think about whether you feel you have selected the right percentage of raw to tackle right now, maybe you goal is to high and you are not ready for it.
There is nothing wrong with gradually uping the raw over time, it can be a lot less stressful and lead to more success in the end, but these are just my opinions. I am sure some will say it's better to drop it all and go 100% and that aligns correctly with the board but really evalute what is right for you. No one knows you better then you.

My heart goes with you!!!! If you CHOOSE to resist, choose ALSO to feel instead of thinking. Meaning, feel the pain of saying no and you will soon realize THAT this is only an energy. If you manage to go through this, you will be stronger next time you are exposed to the smell. Remind yourself the reason that you have choosed to go raw and visualize yourself being there already and let gratitude flow through you. The craving will wear down, this is normal to feel that way in the beginning.
You can do this! If you can make yourself a green smoothies, it will help to heal the craving.
