Hello everyone. I wanted to drop a quick hello, and let you know I am still around. I have been committed to work and home, so I have had little time to sit and chat here online. From Dec of last year, until nigh on April I was on here night and day, so no doubt several wondered if I had fallen off the wagon...lol :) :)

I am still around, still high raw, and still working in for the digestive care company here in sunny Florida. :) I promised myself that I would cut back my web surfing time, so that is why I stopped chatting and blogging here on RawFoodTalk. However, I continue on this journey, and want to make an effort to stick around here on Alissa's site. I know how much a good support system means when you are on the path toward wellness!

I noticed that many of the regular faces have changed, so I wish everyone who has joined much success in the challange, and for those who have been around a while, I say hello again & best wishes for continued success on the raw journey!

My T and I recently moved into a house in a lovely little neighborhood, so I am able to spend more time out of doors walking. I have a delightful open floorplan, which means that being in the kitchen is more enjoyable than it was in the apt. I much prefer the counter space here, on which I am able to prepare lots of lovely raw treats. A favorite these days is strawberries, and I still consume my favorite homemade kimchi, at least 4 days a week. Recently I inagurated the house with its first batch of the infamous onion bread. Luckily here, the stove exhaust actually vents out the roof, so the house didn't have to reek of the bread for days! I have been also eating carrots with a nice nut pate made from veggies, pinenuts and almonds.

I am as always struggling to keep wheat out of my diet, but I have remained mostly on track. I have also been back on the coffee bandwagon, a habit I resumed during my vacation in April. oops. But, then, in the scheme of things it isn't as bad as other things that I could consume.

I am still high raw, 80% most days, sometimes 100, and at times lower due to a bit of millet bread, coffee or animal products. However, I celebrated 2 years high raw in April, and hope to continue on this track. I am not sure I will ever truly stick to 100 raw one hundred percent, but I am mostly there, most of the time. :)

I will continue to try and drop in, and update my journal when I can.

Hello again everyone, and happy 4th...

Cassy:)

Cassy, hello!!!!!!!! It's so great to see your name on the boards again, no matter how brief your stop-in. I've gone and come back again myself, just can't seem to stay away from the pursuit of health through raw foods.

I'm glad things are going well in your life. Ya, having a nice kitchen makes tons of difference, doesn't it? All the best to you and hope to see you around a little more often if possible.

God's Peace

Shannon

BTW, congratulations on 2 years high raw! Way to go girl!

Hey Shannon! Glad to see you are still around too! I will try and peek in an post more often.

In addition to the nice kitchen here, it is also more quiet, since we aren't sharing walls directly with neighbors. And, since I have a bit of space out back, I plan to try my hand at growing a few more things than I managed at the apt. I still have my basil and tomatoes growing in containers...

You are right when you say it's hard to stay away from here...everyone is just so kind here at Alissa's site. Definately the right place to be for support for Raw.

Cassy :) :D

Hi. I've been thinking about you. So glad everything is going well.

I'm in and out with raw, mostly because of my own little fears but just can't keep away from all of the happy raw people on this site.

Hey you. Fear is a part of life, isn't it. I understand fear, been there myself. In terms of fearing raw, I know we have chatted about that before...Glad you are still around too. THe people here are great though. I was looking for the faces I knew from before, and so it is nice to see you!

Are you still doing yoga daily? I was in a car accident last month, and my chiro had me stop my jogging, but I am allowed to do some stretching and light swimming. I miss my daily yoga practice...Soon I shall be allowed to exercise again, but until then I pine...

Cassy, lovely soul, I have missed you and welcome you back.
Sad to hear of your accident but grateful you are well enough to be on here.
Congrats on your new home, how exciting. I never once thought you fell off any wagon whilst you were off gallavanting...lol
You've been eating too good for too long for that to have been the case.
And CONGRATS on 2 years of health!
So happy to hear from you. :) :D :p

So good to see you here. I just came back 2 days ago myself after a long hiatus. Nice to see a familiar friend from my first days raw.
Glad to hear everything is going so well for you!!! The kitchen sounds amazing!
Looking forward to your comments on here - as they are always clean and clear and helpful.

Hi Cassy.

Yes I'm still doing yoga...even more so. I'm taking a mentoring class in the Anusuara practice (pretty intense with alignment and energy). My yoga practice has taken a new roll in my life and I even toy around with meditation.

I'm also taking swimming lessons so I've put a hold on the weight lifting and the running. I never learned how to swim and it's really important that I do since my babies are in water a lot now. Also, I really want to swim for exercise. Funny thing is that I can run miles, but I'm out of breath when I try to swim one length of a pool!

Sorry about your accident. Take this time to rest your body. Do simple yoga, you'll still stay fit and maybe find a calmer practice that you enjoy.

I'm also finding that I need my physical energy for my twins (they both run and walk now!) and I can't wear myself down on a treadmill and still be up to full speed for the babies. So I'm finding a new balance between exercise, diet, and being a Mom.

Anything else going on?

Hey Carmel, Catherine! Good to see you too! Yes, this is a wonderful place to come, even if it is off and on due to a busy life & home... I am happy that everyone is doing well, and keeping their body fed with lots of healthy, tasty live foods! I think it is all about finding a way to integrate raw into our everyday lives, not just seeing this as a short term challenge. Seeing everyone around here, after my haitus is nice! Life continues, and we find a way to make this journey work in such a way that we can keep it up. (at whatever % we are capable of)

Catherine, I am so happy you have found a practitioner who is assisting you to get well. Sometimes it is easier to have a guide, isn't it. And Carmel, congratulations on your move earlier this summer.

Debbie, not much else is going on other than what I mentioned earlier. It is hurricane season here in FL, so that makes for a bit more excitement in my life at this time...large one headed our way too. I am fighting having added back in coffee to my diet, which is surely a cause of concern for me these days...I don't need the stress it brings up. I did write a bit about that in my journal today.

That is great that you are swimming too! I am sure that your children will love that. I remember as a child getting to swim with my dad...It is a nice memory, as he taught me to float on my back. I also remember learning to "blow bubbles" one summer in FL visiting my grandfather...now that is an old memory... We have a pool at our house now, which makes for work to clean it, but the reward is the swim. Unlike most around here ours is not in a screened cage, and the neighbors have huge trees that drop leaves right in...It is a never ending process to clean, but worth the effort.

Anyway, thanks everyone for saying hi. I missed you all!

Cassy:)
