I know Alissa sells them on here, but I want to have freshly ground oatmeal as I need it, so i want to buy the whole groats. Will someone P-L-E-A-S-E tell me where she gets her oat groats in the first place?? All the raw oat groats I have found are bitter, I would want to buy some from her store if they were just the groats, not the "meal". Does anyone know what I mean?
I want to also buy the raw almonds, but where does she get her source from?
thankx

I believe she purchases the oats already flaked, not in groat form. You can sometimes find raw oat groats at health food stores but you can definitely find them online: like here (http://www.sprouthouse.com/Oat_Groats_RAW_p/oatgr.htm) but there are many other places in cyber space :)
The raw almonds she sells on her site are from Spain. (http://alissacohen.com/shop/Almonds-Organic-Raw-1lb-p-109.html)

Whole Foods Market sells oat groats. I soak mine in the fridge to 5-7 days, changing the water daily. They never taste bitter to me. I also freeze them, which makes them a little softer. I eat groats every morning with almond milk and bananas!

I believe this is where Alissa gets her oats. They are way cheaper here too. I order 5lbs of the rolled and groats at a time. Keep them in the freezer and they stay good indefinitely with no effect to taste/function. Cheers!

If these are really and truly TRULY raw, and they are not bitter like the ones I've tried before, I have literally hit upon a "Gold Mine"!!!! :) So, THANKS!! I DO wonder if these are what Alissa sells????:D

the oats from goldmine still have a certain amount of bitterness, but there is an easy cure.. salt. For oatmeal add a pinch of salt to th water it will help neutralize the bitterness. When soaking groats do the same. salt takes bitterness out of most foods.
