Hi - I'm 28 and I live in Seattle. I became vegan about a year ago, and then about a month ago I decided to try being raw. I committed to eating raw for 21 days and at the end of it, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't want to go back to eating cooked food!
My biggest challenge is that my husband still eats the SAD. It was hard enough to get him to understand why I became vegan, and he has finally grown accustomed to that - but now that I am transitioning to raw, it's like going through the whole battle once again.
When I was eating cooked vegan food, we could at least share dinner for the most part. I would make something like stir fry & rice and then he would just cook chicken in a separate pan and add it in himself. Now, it's a little tougher to coordinate.
I know that eventually it will get easier and I just need to be patient. It's definitely worth it because I feel so much healthier and full of energy when I am only eating raw.

Welcome!
Awww, that is a tough situation.
Try wowing him with something he really likes, like desserts? Tons of gr8 recipes floating around on here.
Or how about if you have one day/evening a week all raw, then next month have two days/evenings - then so on?
Or start your mornings out with green smoothies.
Where there's a will, there's a way...
If not. Sit down w/your gr8 raw foods and when he sees your boundless energy and glow, he's join you.

Hello from Bothell! :)

Your so right! It will get easier.

It's a challenge getting the family together for one meal, but now that I'm making two meals it's even more difficult. Practice helps. So does an understanding family. Mine has seen the benefit of what raw does for me so they don't complain. That has made it a lot easier. They pitch in and help, or even get their own dinner...if I ask them to.

Your husband may be even more supportive when he sees positive results from your new eating style! :)

Hey you said you fought the battle once and won so you'll win this battle also. I always try to make some type of large salad for our family dinner and maybe put a bowell of fruit on the table. This way we still have family dinner and I feel like I have something to fill my plate and it's also something the rest of the family has with whatever I fixed them for dinner. Now my family doesn't feel like dinner is complete if there isn't some type of salad to go with their meal. Good Luck!!!
