Hi everyone.

I'm on mu 4 day of waterfasting and im going to break it in 2 days bye eating very small amounts of fruit and veggies and bye drinking juice - and here comes the question:

1. How much juice should I drink during the first, second and then the third day after the fast along whit my increasing food intake?

2. Another question is about how fast you regain your strength and stamina after a 5 day waterfast. I am a circus performer and have to be back in the tent bye the 4th day after breaking, Is this possible?

I can't find any info on any of theas questions and is hoping for an anser.
Bye the way, I'm going to go raw after the fast also, it was like i was uncontusly drawn towards it so I'm giving it a try :)

Thank you!

1. As much as you want to!
2. Yup!

Welcome to RAW!!!

So question... if your energy levels are important to you... why water fast? Why not juice FEAST instead... fill your body with healthy juices and FEED it into a place of health.

Thank you fore the awnsers!

We are now betwen citys and its the only time that i have more than one day off and i wanted to do a stronger clensing than the juice.
One other thing is that I am an high level acrobat, performes very demanding feats every day and ned very much nutrition every day, and i don't know how my energy levels will be affected bye a juice fast (though i belive it might not be a problem). So, I decided to 5 day of water fast and keep it to my time off instead of doing a 10 day juice fast (I'v read the waterfasting clenses at doubble speed compared to juice) and mabye interfear whith my work.

About the juice after the fast though, if I drink "to much", doesn't my sleeping digestive system mess upp, especialy on the first day?

Hi Mimmic, I'm really impressed that you were able to water fast while performing. Generally it's best to rest to conserve energy during a water fast, but we are all different. I finished a 7 day water fast 2 weeks ago. I followed Jeremy Safron's plan from his book Dining from An Empty Bowl. Basically I juiced for six days afterwards -- gradually introducing both green & fruit smoothies and solid fruit on specific days. I ate some solid food, but felt much better simply juicing.

As far as energy, I felt good before, during and after the fast as I prepared by drinking green juices for 3 days prior. I think it just makes sense to listen to your body as Aleesha already mentioned. You sound like you're already in great shape, probably above average and perhaps your recovery will also be above average after water fasting. I'm just guessing.

Check out Jeremy Safron's book - a lot of good fasts listed (juice, sprouts, soups, etc) and he's a raw foodist. :)

Hope you're doing well.

This depends on your body really. My sleeping patterns improve considerably after fasting. I think, if anything, you heal on a large scale when you fast. So there is nothing that gets "messed up" so to speak. Quite the opposite, you may just continue to experience detoxification when you break the fast, depending on what it is that you're experiencing. I generally try to eat digestive friendly foods like raw sauerkraut, soaked prunes, apples, ginger root, green smoothies etc after I fast. I also take vegan probiotics for a few days afterwards to reintroduce healthy flora to my intestines.

I did a considerable amount of research before I began juice and water fasting last year. I don't think it's something that you should embark on until you understand every facet of it, especially how to break a fast and the signs to look for to end it if necessary. How to properly break a fast, especially a water fast, is very critical. This includes being able to read whether or not you're detoxifying and when to hang in there. Just a recommendation to do the research...not preaching. :)

Best wishes.

Great posts RawHeaven!

Mimmic, personally I would start slow and work your way up. If this is your first fast... then I would juice feast for the 5 days... then break your fast and on your next days off... perhaps do 1 day of water in the middle... then the next days off... increase that to 3 days of water.

After all... you have a lifetime of toxins... taking it slow and easy will greatly benefit you. You may think you want to do this hard and fast but until you've experienced heavy detox... trust me, it's not what you 'want'. LOL

Although, I am simply speaking from my own experience... as this is all I have. I've done extensive research and find that taking it slow... is the healthiest way to do it for me. :)

All the best on your fast... regardless of who you do it.

Read may be Paul Bragg's stuff.I am back to "normalcy" like a full 24 hours after a fast, but I do not fast THAT long as You.Bragg recommended eating rough vegetables when leaving a fast, this makes good stuff like cucumbers, cabbage, tomatoes etc,it is good with me too,or lately I like to leave a fast on very acid fruits like grapefruit or lemon, they should clean the rest the fast has not yet.I do not drink no juices afer fast,it is worse than raw veges anyway to drink first juice. And no proteins till a couple of hours after the fast is over, its bad.
