So I was hoping I could get some opinions on which is better - the Tupperware FridgeSmart storage containers or the Rubbermaid Food Saver...
The FridgeSmart are more expensive, but have a lifelong warranty. Supposedly the white pieces can come off and get lost.
The Food Saver is cheaper but does not have adjustable breathing holes - they are all standard. I like the little removable floor on it.
Any opinions??? Thanks!

I've been using the Tupperware Fridgesmarts for years - never had the white piece come off. I love them! Food lasts so much longer in them. I cannot vouch for the Rubbermaid...sorry

I'll vote for the Tupperware Fridge Smart as well. It is awesome stuff. I was actually a Tupperware dealer when the FS was introduced. I will never forget the demo my manager did at the meeting that night, 10 years ago now! Three weeks before the demo, she purchased a bunch of celery, placing half of it in the FS, and the other half left in the bag from the market. At the demo, she pulled the celery out of the bag, and it flopped all over and wouldn't really break when bent. Then she pulled the celery out of the FS and ::snapped:: it in half, with an audible crack! I was quite impressed.
Later I had my own FS (still do), and purchased some green leaf lettuce. I washed and dried the leaves and layered them in one of the rectangle FS. It was literally 30 days later when I used the last of it , and it was still good, not one bit of slimey edging on the leaves or anything. (yes, I know, seems like a head of lettuce shouldn't have even been around that long, because it should have been eaten long before then, but that was then and I'm looking forward, not backward)
Anyway... my point is, Tupperware FS is ::awesome:: stuff, it has a lifetime guarantee, and like Lucy, I haven't had any problems with the white pieces getting lost.

Someone in this thread recommended the Lock and Lock from QVC. I just went to their site and boy are prices good compared to the Tupperware Fridgesmart. The QVC shoppers gave it a great rating too, but none of their posts mentioned that the Lock and Lock actually kept food fresh for longer than expected. Can anyone here give additional info on the Lock and Lock.. like did it help to keep your food fresh for longer than normal storage? Thanks for your input!

My husband broke the white piece off of a Fridgesmart the first time I put it in the fridge. Can you believe he thought he was supposed to open it by that white piece? He just kept pulling on it until it broke. The idiot!

I was just curioius to know what technology or method or whatever these products use to extend life? Are they nothin more than sealed containers or do they absorb/produce gasses and stuff like that?
I have a food saver (don't think it's the same thing discussed here, mine is by Tilia with the motorized vacuum pump to make a vacuum in the containers).
