Just wondering why we need to do enemas or colonics instead of letting the body do what it naturally does? Seems to me to go against the whole Raw thought process!?!

My outlook is, since we have eaten UNNATURAL foods, for many years and it has been cooked onto our colon walls for years upon years, then you might need unnatural means aka ( colonics- enemas) to help the unnatural things u did growing up. The colon is meant to get rid of food you ate from yesterday etc, it's function however is not to get rid of steak and eggs we ate in 1995 thats been impacted, that's not it's job... So help might be needed.

It's all about personal choice....

I was 100% raw 3 years, still having problems * rolls eyes* waiting for the day that eventually my body will just HEAL all the abuse from my formative years..... Never happened. It improved, but I have had many problems going raw, it has not been an easy journey, but one I wouldnt change.... I finally added colonics and enemas to my lifestyle end of May.. THANK GOD. My body thanked me... Bye bye steak and eggs from 1995. lol

I've ALMOST done enemas for a wheatgrass fast, then didn't. I'm already having so much success from having a lot of ground flax (like 2-5 Tablespoons a day), eating raw, having the green smoothies, lots of mono eating (breakfast today was 6 or 7 local, fresh, super tasty peaches), regular vigorous exercise, etc...

I feel good and alive and pretty darn cleaned out. If it's not broken, don't fix it!

I hear about people with Davyp's situation, though... who are doing raw for a long time and still having issues. Sometimes a colonic can get that moving. Or a juice fast with daily enemas can be a good tool too. I guess! :)

One doesn't NEED to do the enemas or colonics, it's a choice. I choose not to. To me I feel it's too extreme. One goes from eating a SAD/CRAP diet to totally cleansing, then when food IS introduced, the body hoards it and thinks it's not gonna get anymore food and turns it into fat.

However, others want to be totally cleaned out before and during their raw journey.

It's a matter of choice.
