Hey everyone! First of all, since I have gone raw, my SAD husband has decided he is going to eat fruit every morning until lunch!! This is huge for him as he usually is a big cereal and cow milk kind of guy, or an egg and bacon kind of guy. :) Needless to say.. I am so thrilled!

Secondly, he now understands my desire for a really good blender, and we have been researching the illustrious Vitamix..

Here's my question... We found a used Vitamix 3600 in full working condition, with all the parts for $125.. which I think is a good deal. Do you think this is a good buy? Or would we be better off saving for the $400 version? I am a bargain shopper, so me finding a Vitamix for this price is exciting...

Your thoughts??

Considering the new ones are close to the $500.00 range I think $125.00 is great! As you can see they hold their value quite well and if you don't like it you can trade it in directly to Vitamix for a new one and they will give you some credit towards a new one. Or you can sell it used to someone else. To me this sounds like a win win situation! I would go for it!:D

Oh and I just checked EBAY - Those are the cool metal ones! They run from $150 with shipping all the way up to $300.00 with shipping so I think you are getting it on the lower side.

I have a Vitamix 3600 Plus--bought it at least 15 years ago. It has the metal cannister and the spigot, which I never use, but it is not at a problem. The only thing "wrong" is that one of the clips is now only attached on one side ( the clip is still completely usable). That's all the "damage" done in 15 + years. I think the metal cannisters are true workhorses. Someday, I'll get a new one with variable speeds, etc., but I love my 3600+.

Thanks! I thought it seemed like a good deal. :) I found it on Craiglist, so here's hoping I get an email back from the seller! :)

I got that model, on eBay, for only a little more than what you are paying! I love it. It was used and vintage, but still awesome. It has a little leak in the spigot, but I adore it, and it is definitely doing MORE than its worth of smoothies, etc.
