I would like to learn more hard facts about what nutrients you get from raw foods, what foods to eat to treat candida overgrowth (beside onion, garlic, and ginger), and other conditions, also any raw research that has been done.

I'm now 8 weeks, 100% raw, and still loving it. If I want to interest others in this lifestyle, I need facts. Does anyone know of the best books to read? I plan on buying many eventually, but for starters it would help to know which will give me that type of information.

Thank you all!!

Hi Sadii,
There are many books that you can look up that will give you information on fat, protein, carbs and calories of each specific food. There are books that will also tell you what foods are healing foods for certain conditions. If you go to a borders or book store like that im sure you can find many.
I have some old juicing books that tell you what juices are good for certain conditions. So those kinds of book can be really helpful.

As far as candida and other issues, im sure there are books about how to heal this naturally without drugs the conventional way, but healing through raw foods... im not sure you will find a book that breaks down how to treat every disease with raw.

I know that when you clean your body of old toxins and remove the poisons in your body you will heal. So I think a lot of teachers/authors go on this fact that when you detox and eat raw you will heal yourself of many of the diseases that doctors say are incurable.
And that you may not have to be specifically treating each disease but treating it more like a whole body healing. Like when you stat to clean out one thing the rest begins to heal?

There's a spot on Alissa's site that does a wonderful basic explanation of what raw food is all about. Click on the kiwi (Raw Food Diet) and the first tab is "What is the Raw Food Diet." See if that helps.

Hi Sadii,
I just saw a book in orders that gave the healing properties of just fruits and veggies. i don’t know the name of it though, but i know there are many like that.
I think you would get a lot out of speaking to someone who has worked with people who have these illness's and seeing how they are doing it raw and there probably are not too many books out there that talk about that.
Much love,
Dane
