Hello,
I tried to do a search on this already. I hope this is not a 'dumb' question. I know that the juice does not have the fiber and the smoothie does. What I was wondering is why would it be appropriate to consume juices versus smoothies? I am not clear on the advantages/disadvantages of each and was wondering if one is more beneficial for health over the other? Thank you for any help on this :)

Thanks Aleesha. What I get from all that is juice is more for healing. It is not my intention to do a feast, as I plan to eat a salad with some form of nut or seed pate once a day too. Plus a dessert here and there thrown into the mix - just for good measure
Thanks for the help with this.

thanks ava!
raspberry4, if it's a daily intake you are wondering about... IMO every single person on the planet should drink at least one green smoothie every single day! yup... everyone. it's soooooo beneficial assisting you to assimilate more greens into your diet. we all need more greens!!!
juice is great as well... but smoothies are much more important on a daily regular-diet basis.

IN the beginning stages of my personal healing (read the first 3 years of being 100% raw) I couldn't handle fiber at all. None. It took me several years to realize that it was the culprit, but as soon as I switched from green smoothies to green juices I was great. Currently I juice greens and use them as a base to my smoothies. I have come a long way....but I did trial a green smoothie just a few months ago and got sick as a dog again.
I love being raw, but in my experience (and I am just one person) I came to raw highly damaged from an eat to live type of diet (raw vegan with the exception of beans....though some cooked veggies and one grain a day were allowed) I wasn't damaged by the diet, understand. I was just already basically eating a very clean close to raw diet. I fully expected to even out just eating raw-as that is what most people experience. For me though, the fiber was just too much.
Even now if I eat a salad I can tell the next morning.
So, that's my experience. I lived on green smoothies for wel over a year and only got worse digestively speaking. So *for me* juicing is a far better option. I am one person who should NOT drink green smoothies. ;) Fruits don't bother me as much as veggies for what it's worth.
