Has anyone done this... is it possible to freeze lara bars?

They're marked down 10 for $10. Woo-hoo. I want to stock up for trips, but don't want a huge quantity laying around for me to grab if you know what I mean. :p

I know that some of them are not raw (chocolate ones etc), just to nip that in the bud. ;)

Never tried, but where did you find them on sale?

My guess is it would be fine. That's a great deal!

Thanks for the replies guys...yup Rawlinda, maybe I'll try it with one and see what happens. Good idea actually. :)

GoingRaw, they were on sale believe it or not at a regular supermarket near my Mom's house. I almost never see them anywhere except on-line, WF, TJ's or my food co-op. At my co-op they're $1.75 a piece! So I gotta buy a couple of boxes at least....don't I? LOL. :D

If they don't freeze well...I'll just have to lock them up some other way or learn some self control with those things. They simply make such great travel food.

Take care.

I'm not sure I understand why you want to freeze them, they have a very long, if not infinate, shelf life.

Yes...it's possible to freeze them. I remember when Sprouts had the 10 for $10 sale a while back and I was buying them by the case :). The cheapest price I can find nowadays is $1.24 @ the healthfood store where I normally go. Now I find it easier (and much cheaper) to make my own. I put my homemade ones in the freezer to set up, and I keep them in there so my kids won't eat them up as quick. It works!

When I buy raw bars in bulk and keep them out of the fridge they get crystalized on the outside...I think it's the dates oozing sugar in the hot weather. Thanks for the freezer tip...I never even thought of it!
