You can make your own version of Vega for about 45 bucks. Basically, it's just a mix of yellow pea powder, hemp powder and brown rice powder. iHerb.com has great prices from what I've seen. There is also another premixed brand by Lifetime called "Life's Basics Plant Protein." It's a mix of pea, rice, hemp and chia seeds. It's tasty, in my opinion. I bought Lifetime at Sprout's grocery store, but I think iHerb.com has better prices. There is another powder by Garden of Life called "Super Seed." It's just a bunch of different sprouted beans ground into a powder. I think it's raw, but not 100% sure on that one.

Life's Basic Plant Protein powder and Garden of Life Super Seed powder is a very close rendition of Vega for about 40 dollars (roughly 30 servings where Vega is only 15 servings for 70 dollars).

You can get all the protein you need from natural unprocessed food. I avoid as much man made/processed foods as possible. My main source of protein are walnuts which have as much protein as red meat and I take no powders at all and have gained 20 lbs of muscle in just a few months.

Thank you very much - I just need to figure out the proportions. I, for one, needs the protein powders, and perhaps as I maintain rawness, I will be able to eliminate it, but for now, this is wonderful. Thanks again:o

$45 isn't "cheap" at all in my book. Sounds like it would cost more tan you'd spend on the protein powder itself....which, as raweater said, is totally unnecessary.

Not only are those products not 100% raw & have additives like Fructose, you can easily create something much cheaper with hemp, maca, flax, and/or chia, etc.

ic

they are just the same book with different product names.
i do endurance sports, so i am very concern adding extra pounds.

But i still like your idea to make use of ready available whole raw food alternatives first.

i have a tight budget, so i really need a bargain way to prepare what i eat.
