I took my daughter's Dasani water to the gym tonight but didn't drink it. Ingredients: purified water, magnesiium sulfate, potassium chloride, salt. Why do we need these ingredients? Sulfate??????????? Rest here? I thought seeing the word sulfate was enough to take me away from thirst.
Got any info. I have read here that it is also acidic yikes as my daughter has enough with her IBD/Crohn's problems. It pays to read labels.
Feedback? Thanks.

I have no idea but... why are you adding to the problem of this planet by drinking water out of plastic bottles? Come on girl, you are raw... get yourself one of the wonderful metal bottles which last forever and refill it!
I have a 40 oz (http://www.rawveganbooks.com/product_info.php?ref=199&products_id=1001843&affiliate_banner_id=1) in my car with me all the time. My daughter has a 27 oz (http://www.rawveganbooks.com/product_info.php?ref=199&products_id=1001842&affiliate_banner_id=1) and my hubby has a 40 oz he takes to work with him. So much better than drinking and tossing or recycling. Cause hey... why recycle when you can just simply re-use!

I had bought myself a stainless steel bottle but the top of it is plastic and it gets into the water, and that is not good. I might have to start another post and ask for suggestions on bottles that don't have the plastic top.
I do know that Dasani is acidic and like Aleesha says it's not good to drink out of anyway, but I have to admit once in a while I do because I tend to not drink a lot of water and sometimes the only thing I can get is bottled water. Like I said above I did try the stainless steel but drinking plastic pieces is not appealing to me.

dasani is a coca cola product. nevermind creating more waste from plastic bottles, you don't want to be supporting a corporation that pollutes horribly... i wouldn't trust any of their products, i'm honestly not surprised. they could be putting high fructose corn syrup or some addictive tasteless chemical in the water for all we know. i wouldn't put it past them. fyi, glaceau (smart water) is also a cocoa cola product.
get a water filter and a reusable bottle.

try using glass if you are worried about metal & plastic. (and aren't to hard on your bottles)
Glass has no problem of leaching and doesn't smell. There ARE other options besides buying bottled water. Most water company's get their water straight from the tap anyway.

We use Sigg bottles for our filtered H2O and love 'em. No more recycling required - hurray!

Dasani is bottled tap water unless they have changed it. Coca Cola admitted that it was tap water a few years ago I think but I don't know if they have changed it.

Doesn't Coca Cola own Dasani?
'nuff said?

I think it's just to get the word "minerals" on the label so the sheeple will want to buy it because it has minerals in it. Obviously "much better" then plain old bottled water so they can charge more.

I threw out my Aluminum pots and pans because Aluminum isn't suppose to be good for you. What is their "non-toxic baked on inner lining"?

Gosh, I suppose my husband normally buying the water from Costco, not Dasani that my daughter just brought in, isn't thinking and neither I was. Aleesha and I all thanks for the awakening. I can't believe I got caught in this snag.
Now I need to know about water filters. What is everyone using? Time to bump up the lifestyle to what I should have been doing before. Sorry all.
For myself I was buying Arrowhead, but still probably nothing like doing your own water system. Thanks. Glad I asked the question and now I got my own wake up.

Luckily I have some amazing tap water (Berkeley, CA. People here really care about issues like what is in our water so ours is pretty good) so I just drink straight from the tap. It taste great and I get a tiny bit of fluoride to help with my teeth.

Don't get too much fluoride-it's nasty stuff.

Hi Carolg,
Buying bottled water doesn't serve either your family or the planet.
There are very few regulations when it comes to bottled water and quite a few companies just use tap water to fill their bottles (as mentioned by SmoothieGirl). Bottled water is not required to be tested thoroughly so it's even worse than drinking tap water (which is required to be tested to disease and chemicals). But the harmful elements that leak from plastic, and you may be putting your health in danger. Also, I've tested most brands available in my area and they all are very acidic, usually a pH balance of 3 - 4 (a body's pH balance should be 7.5 for good health).
The best option for anyone, in my opinion, is to get a good water filtering system. Personally, I use a water ionizer than not only filters water of chemicals, microbes, and heavy metals, but also oxygenates the water and makes it very alkaline. Alkaline water is very beneficial for the body and healing processes, because it brings more oxygen to the cells and helps the body maintain proper pH balance (crucial to optimum health). Alkaline water facilitates cleansing processes in the body and is great for detoxification.
There are many ionizers on the market, I use a Rejuvenator from www.waterworks4U.com, theirs is one of the best and least expensive. The machine also creates acidic water that can be used to washing wounds and cuts, cleaning hair and face (external use only). It can also be used to water flowers and let me tell you - my african violets are blooming like never before!
Hope this helps.
Alina
