I love green smoothies but I find that I don't make them because I am too busy sometimes. I have considered making them up, 3 days at a time but am concerned that I will be defeating the purpose.
Do any of you store your smoothies this way? Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks

Hello Want2bRaw!
Fresh is always best, but you need to do the best you can. There are a lot of messages out there on the 'net that say that things must be done a certain way for success. As time is going on, I am finding that type of message is fear based and not conducive to a peaceful existance.
A green smoothie that has been stored in the refrigerator is better than no green smoothie. See how it works for you. Trial and success!

Check out qvc.com, they carry plastic containers called Lock and Lock. I use these all the time and Smoothies can last a week in them. I store My Vegetables and Everything in them.

I alway's make a batch for 2 or three day's and store them in 1 quart Mason Jars in the fridge. I am traveling to dear MIL's house next week and am making an extra batch to take in my cooler on a large icepack. I can't go a day without my green smoothie!:o

I make them for three days at a time. Maybe it's less than optimal, but they keep well and I have something to eat when I am busy.

Victoria Boutenko says in her book that they will last 36 hours in the fridge... as long as they do not get warmed at any time. (like you take it out, change your mind and pop it back in)
But again... you get more nutrients when they are fresh because they do start to break down. I find that after about 30 hours... they are just not good anymore.
So three days... 72 hours... I would suggest you don't. Can you perhaps make them every two days??? Cause honestly, why drink something just to drink it. Don't you want all those beautiful nutrients? Isn't that the point of drinking green smoothies?
