Hi Everyone! My name is Lisa. I live in Naples Florida. I discovered Allissa's site this past weekend at a Yoga conference. I met someone there who has been raw almost a year. She told me how great she feels and she runs 6 miles a day. Her skin glows! I want to try it. I ordered Alissa's book and hope to get it soon. I want to start but not sure how to or what I am doing yet and tthink I should just wait for the book. I have been addicted to reading all of the information you all post on here. It is inspiring. I have competed in a figure competiton once in my life and I want to do it again in October. I do not like all of the animal protein that you have to consume though when preparing..so I thought I would try to go raw and see if I could get results and get enough protein.

Can't wait to get started....LTD11

Hi, & welcome, & for sure you can get enough protein! There are many raw athletes who excel in their chosen sports, (including weightlifting!) & greens, especially, contain a much more absorbable protein than meat/dairy!

The book "Greens for Life" would be very beneficial for you to learn more about this, by Victoria boutenko (but I know I spelled that wrong, can anyone please correct me!?)

Anyways, just jump on in, keep it simple, fill your house with produce, get the other stuff out if you can, & just start enjoying the abundance of summer's bounty!

I appreciate all of your feedback. You are all very kind and helpful.:)

I will get the book too. Has anyone out there been in a figure show and know the right amount of protein a woman should take in when working out hard? Do any of you ladies use stevia? I am addicted to it.....it is so sweet. But is it bad for me?

Thanks! Have a great day all!

Hi Everyone! My name is Lisa. I live in Naples Florida.

Hi Lisa,

For support, I know there is a Sarasota raw group.. (meetup.com) there is also a restaurant there. I haven't been to either, but I used to live in Ft. Myers (now stuck in NJ.. I don't want to talk about it). A friend of mine used to be raw, he had a raw group in Ft. Myers.. I'll have to ask him if he still does it.

I looked at meetup.com. Apparently there's a raw group in Naples, one in Ft. Myers, and one in Cape Coral.

Oh my God! That is such exciting news Art..Thank you :D I will look them up now.

I have started with making some green smoothies and so far so good. I like them alot. I did put some stevia in it though to make it even sweeter...I have an issue with sugar. Hopefully eating raw will help me to get passed it:)

Thanks again!!!!!

Lisa ;)
