i have this acne and its usually always under the skin and there is never a head. but if i poke a needle in it where it looks like a head wants to form i drain half blood half puss...alot sometimes. and the same spots fill right back up after i drain it. if there a smaller ones that are hard rather than soft a liquid filled they usually go away in a month or 2 but it still leaves a huge scar even if i dont touch it. what are some natural things i can put on it maybe after i drain it so it absorbs it more when its open?

Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar is great for the complexion. I would dilute it down because it is super strong.

I don't have cystic acne, but I do know that when I eat anything my body doesn't agree with, it shows up on my face. Maybe re-eval what you are intaking to see what is causing the problem internally. :)

I have this same issue though over the years has almost completely stopped. One thing that helped me was to greatly reduce/stop my refined sugar intake (only eat natural sugars from fruits ect.) I assume since your raw that you are already doing this though.

i had cystic acne 3 years ago. it was the reason why i went raw. i also had red marks from the acne. i'm acne free now, after 2 years raw. now if i get a pimple from eating non-raw food, it usually goes away in 24 hours(versus a few months). my skin is now very smooth and soft, without any trace of acne. i get compliments all the time. eating raw is unbelievable.

drawing salve- the one in the little orange container you can find at your health food store- i get these around my chin before my period, i put the salve on and usually within a couple days something happens. i have very sensitive skin and it doesnt irritate my skin at all.

I have this problem as well - on my jaw/chin/sometimes neck area.

Freespirit - are you talking about PRID drawing salve? I work at a small health food store & I'm thinking this is the one. When you say something "happens" - what ends up happening for you? and how long before they go away?

yes, prids. they come to a head, especially if they are inflamed, sometimes overnight. and i will put it on spots i had previous troubles, where their is old gunk under my skin and it draws it out.

I have had some great results with it, especially when I fast or eat mono meals...the heavier my diet is, the longer it takes.

I keep a jar of aloe vera with a little vitamin e and tea tree oil mised into it in the bathroom and use it whenever I see the pimples coming. Usually noticeable improvement within 24 hours.

my cystic acne has been FAR worse since going raw...80% raw since new year '08, 100% raw over a month. i am still attributing this to detox, and really hope that is the case. also, my pores appear much larger.

things that have helped my cystic acne in the past include egg white masks, raw honey and lemon masks, and TONS of water followed by the sauna. holding ice on the large, painful ones helps also. i am trying to be at peace with my skin, but it's EXTREMELY difficult. i've had skin problems for many years.

I've also heard that you can use a flaxseed mask to help acne.

I would also look into psychosomatic solutions. I'm just getting into it. The mind has funny ways of dealing with past trauma to avoid feeling certain memories and emotions.

My cystic acne was at its worst when I was addicted to ice cream. It took me a while to make the correlation, but was it Ever easy to give up once I did.
I am in transition to raw and have been for a year...but I am vegetarian. I say this because I still have problems with acne and I'm 34.
I don't have much dairy at all, very, very scant. So I decided to do a little experiment and give up all dairy for an entire month and see if I noticed a difference.

The results....I am around two weeks in, and I am having cystic acne problems! Why me?!

It sucks. I am going to finish the month and see once my cycle comes around what that scene is like...if I see even an improvement (I realize it's actually worse at this point), it will be so encouraging to keep up my momentum.

I say take a look at your diet.

rawfoodistdavid...vitamin A? what foods would those be?

LInda1970...very inspiring story? Do you place any restrictions on your diet other than raw or no?

I second this as loudly as possible.

Yeah that can be weird. I wouldn't believe it except I actually did that before. I can't seem to replicate it though, lol....

The first time I was pregnant I decided that mosquitos weren't going to want to bite me, because my blood or scent or whatever was different. And it worked! I actually stood at dusk Regularily throughout that pregnancy. They would be eating everyone else alive, and just land on me sometimes and then fly away. It was so funny...

I've done it for other things before too...but I don't remember. Kind of fluky, and you have be utterly Convinced of it.

....sorry, that's kind of digressing a bit. I guess the point is, sheer believing can make Huge differences....

Swimming in a chlorinated pool helped me keep my skin very acne free for many years. I swam everyday, when I no longer had my pool to swim in everyday, I would get the acne back. I am thinking it was the swimming??:o :p

wheatgrass in theropeudic dose can eliminate acne 4-20 ozs a day- i use frozen, no mess and much milder in taste becasue it is outdoor grown. the grass has a slower growth time and is able to draw more nutrients from the soil as opposed to tray grown which is pretty gross tasting from the high concentration of sugar.
