1) How long can you put food on the stove for...if i am sauteeing them. I find I am having problems eating salad with vinegar...I used to use mustard or salsa. So I like sauted onion, spinach, etc...but I spray PAM (is that OK)? and add honey ...but now i look back and think i might not have a great lunch to start Raw today :(

2) what are raw food bars...Luna I didnt think was?
THere is an Organic store near my house a little chearer than Whole FOods bc it is privately owned BUT I spend so much time reading ingredients...can anyone help?!

3) I purchased some baby organic veggies, fruit...this is ok right? I thought it should be BUT after buying it as Squash 3rd step (lol) were on sale 10 for $5.oo I thought maybe they cooked it though says organic?

4) if you cook the veggies--sautee, make it aldente, is this ok? I dont microwave, just curious?

5) Are frozen Veggies OK? they are cheaper and I know (not sure why) canned foods are NOT ok.

1) Anything put on the stove to cook is not raw...you can eat what and how you choose but it is not raw if you heat it beyond warm. Salsa on salad is fine as long as its freshly made. Just experiment...no need to have vinegar if you don't like it.

2) Lara Bars.

3) Any fresh veggies and fruits are great...if it says organic even better!

4) Any cooking kills the enzymes...no longer raw...but what you eat is your choice and what works for you.

5) Frozen veggies have usually been blanced..fruit is fine...canned is not~

After a food is sauteed it is not raw. If you want to gently heat something on the stove, a good way is to use a double boiler. Boil a pot of water and then put a metal bowl over it with your food. Don't let it get hot, only barely warm.

These are definately not raw.

It is okay to eat anything you want. Sauteed onion and spinach and Pam are not raw of course, but many people eat some cooked and mostly raw while transitioning--and beyond.

Some people jump right in and do 100%, some never do. It's up to you to find your own goals for yourself. I ust wanted to make sure you knew that it wasn't raw=)>

Since the others answered your questions...I will elaborate on one point. :p
Canned veggies are not ok, simply because all foods packaged in cans have been heated first. Killing...enzymes. Which is the whole point of eating raw in the first place. ;)

Like the others said, there are no raw police to watch what you eat...eat what you want, but if you want to eat raw it's for the beneficial enzymes...so don't cook the veggies try to eat them in their raw state.

Our bodies produce enzymes to break down foods, but if we eat foods in their raw state...it aids our bodies in the digestion process...thus making us healthier, lose weight and a boat load of other things that are just rawesome! :D

Good luck...

You can get the illusion of sauteed onions (and other veggies) simply by cutting them up (ringlets or pieces) putting them into a bowl and working olive oil, a little sea salt and a bit of Nama Shoyu (optional) into them. You'll notice that after a while they will soften up and have the look and feel of lightly sauteed onions. This can work with spinach too and a lot of other veggies (mushrooms, peppers, greens, etc.)...marinating them is the next best thing!

Ok, well I am not a person toadd salt to foods, and get edema when I do, so how is sea salt different?

Oh and may I ask this: does anyone use almond or rice 'milk' or greek yogurt. I have alissa's book, but i dont understand all the breakdown stuff...i am one that can follow if explained why...sorry for another question.

Fianllly, how do the raw revolution bars taste? i grabbed it today and it felt slimey, so i didnt purchase it..instead DOH purchases a lara, luna and a vita greens bar-supposedly organic?!
