What to do with currants??

We have a berry farm share and this week we got a quart of red currants. I don't like em by themselves...yucko...any ideas other than the easy answer of "add em to your smoothies"? Thanks :)

you can try dehydrating them and using them in cakes instead of raisins or dates. I've done that, it's pretty good! I posted a picture of the cake I made on this board

Are they the sour, juicy, red kind of currant? We grow red currants in our garden. I find that mixing them with honey improves the taste. I've never had them prepared any other way than fresh, mixed with honey or sugar (I used cane sugar in my pre-raw days).

Okay...now I have black and red currants both...in my freezer...don't know what to do with them, but I entered a vegan dessert contest for tomorrow and will be making cheesecake. Would a current sauce with maybe just currents and agave blended up taste good/look good? Any ideas/opinions?
