I have been a vegan since July 20th of this year. I am still reading stuff about eating raw and I still need to get Alissa's book but I have been reading post and I am a little worried about people talking about being sick and getting blemishes ect..., my face has cleared up very well since becoming vegan. Also I have hardly ever been sick and am not use to even getting headaches except for sinus headaches and I haven't had one of those since being vegan either. I guess my question is: does everybody get sick being raw? Would I maybe not get sick if I just increase the raw in my diet for a while but not go 100% at first? The things I eat which are not raw right now are oatmeal, pastas, bread, beans, and some canned soups. I do not eat junk foods and not much sugar either.

Good Day
That is a great question -No, everyone does not get sick. Everyone's reaction and detoxing is different. Depending on how toxic you are - as in my case, 25 years of meds for various reasons and a couple of doses of radiation - it can be mild or harsh, it could happen at the beginning and someone where down the line.
I have yet to have a strong or violent detox reaction because my body has layers upon layers of stuff to get rid off both physically and mentally. It also determines how raw you are - I have had gas as my main detox sympton, and one pimple hanging from my chin when I decided against my body's judgement to eat a bunch of cooked food. I was also very nasueated.
My skin is beautiful and I became raw and vegan on 6/6 and even though I have been inconsistent - God has been good to let me see what can come through if I am completly raw - Also Alissa told me as well about the same thing, because of the medications - I have a sluggish liver and there is some darkness on my cheeks. I really have radiant skin so I am told
You are still eating processed food, so your detox is a little slower. Please do not look at this as really drastic - you are doing the right thing by doing research and asking questions. Know that if something is happening as you go through, at the end of the process, you will feel remarkable. There are persons on this board that have been 100% for awhile, who will share their journeys with you.

Hi,
I am no expert BUT I would hope that in your case your healthy vegan eating would make for an easier detox for you. Although you could very well still have detox symptoms. It sounds like you are not eating a bad diet although your body is still going to have to rid itself of the gluten and sodium, etc (from the cooked soup / pasta/ etc). Good luck with it though and I hope that you have a very calm and peaceful detox. Keep us updated on how it's going!
