Safe water & water bottles?

Would any of you have some suggestions as to the least expensive but safest water I can get? And what do you know about "Sigg" water bottles? My friend has told me that the water in plastic store-bought bottles has chemicals leached into it from the plastic. And I know my tap water, although filtered via Brita, has chlorine in it. Where do I go from here?:confused:

I have a SIGG. I like it.. but now there's talk about that liner leaching. Kleen Kantene is supposedly really good. I have resorted to glass now. I bought a bunch of mason jars and drink from those. There's also a company called Aquasana that sells glass drinking bottles - 6 for $30. And koozies to help carry them. They also have a water purification system that seems to be pretty good.
I also use PUR to filter. don't love it but I'm in an apt. and can't do much else.
