I am now on day 5 of 100% raw :D . I have gone to the store and bought some mangos and papaya. I have the vita mix and I know that with the pineapple they say to put the core best part and it all gets whipped up also w/apples that sorta stuff.

So with the mangos do you put the skin and seed and all in and drink it all or peel and add deseed it???? Just need to know how you work with these wonders.

Next the papaya I have it sitting on the counter getting ripe since it was hard as a rock. Same questions what do I do with it???? What is edible??

With some fruits they say that the skins have all the nutrients and some the seeds are full of goodness so I am trying to get the most out of the fruits.

Does anyone leave the leafs on the strawberries when blending or juicing them?

Thanks for all your help

Congrats on your 5 days raw!

Mangos have a HUGE seed so remove it and as for skin I remove that as well....but maybe others leave it on? It's a bit bitter to me...and leatheryish

This link will help!

The papaya you peel and deseed....the seeds look like caviar and are like a cantelope in that they are in a cavity and easily scooped out. I'd wait until it was a bit softer and cube it to make a smoothie. They are great when hard if you grate them and make a salad though.

Many people leave the leaves on the strawberries...can't taste them and they add extra green nutrients.

You are so tropical...enjoy your fruits!

with mangos I head outside with a small knife and chow down since they can be pretty juicy- try the peel if it is organic- it compliments the fruit well.

I like to make papaya pudding- 3/4 to 1 cup of papaya and one banana in the vita mix-DELICIOUS!

You got that right freespirit...do you end up wearing yours while slurping on them? I do. But I guess that's half the fun!

FoxieRoxie, take the seed to the shower with ya...great natural fruit acid exfoliant in the flesh stuck to the seed...

I dehydrate the seeds from papaya. When dry they resemble pepper corns.
I sprinkle them on salads.

Papaya seeds look and taste like black pepper. They are anti-parasitic.
I always eat my strawberries with the leaves.

Well thank you all for your helpful hints. I can't wait to try them. I have a dehydrator so I may try to put them in there. That sounds good on the salad. I also like the shower thing too.

So from now on I will leave the leaves on when blending the strawberries.

I am at 8 days now over 1 week complete.

Thanks
