My name is Linda, I wound up on Alissa's site yesterday for the first time, I googled Hemp Protein after reading about how good it is, and she sells it, then I saw UNSWEETENED (hard to find)coconut, and got really excited, then I began to notice all kinds of other things, and spent the whole day reading and googling and reading and here I am. I ordered some food, enzymes, the book and DVD, and then went to Excalibur and ordered a dehydrator, then on to Amazon and ordered a bunch of books, on RFD's and dehydrating. I can be very serious. :p

I recently found out that I am gluten sensitive, I've been having weakness, major fatigue, fluid retention, and some other symptoms, and was told to never eat gluten again, so I've been mostly eating meat and veggies, I guess a version of the Atkins diet....but not liking the idea of eating that much meat, and just haven't been comfortable with that diet, and really didn't know what to do. When I read on her site about this diet and people getting well when they're on it, it seemed like the answer for me. So here I am. I can say that I am way better off of the gluten, an amazing difference in energy.

I do have some questions, and I'm not sure where I should post them. I won't be going to Raw Food overnight, but slowly incorporating more and more raw food to give my body a chance to adjust. My biggest concern is that I also have a problem with low blood sugar, when I eat carbs, and even fruit. Can someone tell me how that is going to work for me. I normally eat protein to keep my blood sugar stable, so I'm definitely going to need help with that one. Anyone who can guide me? Much appreciated.

I have other questions too...I'm going to do some research here on the board to see if I can get some of them answered. I'm really glad to be here. :D Linda

Hi Linda,

Welcome - I recommend eating nuts and seeds to keep your blood sugar stabilized and low sugar fruits (or leave out the fruits for a while). Many people find that the blood sugar stabilizes fairly quickly on a raw food diet.

You can post your questions based on the subject - first do a search and then if you don't find your answer, find the forum with the best match.

Again, welcome.
