Going on my first raw vacation this week! im so nervous!, My boyfriend and I are going to lake George, NY for 6 days!, we went there on 4th of July for the day. I stayed raw, but I didn't have many options. So I am a bit nervous.
Im even more nervous because I have a sinus infection, and I feel like I am going to get that "ah, I don't feel good, I don't care what I eat" attitude. which doesn't make sense because in theory, cooked is not going to make me feel any better. Its the comfort thing...
I wish I knew how to get rid of this headache!! I wont go to the doctor because I never take medication. even before raw, Im the type of person that gets every bad side effect from prescription drugs.
Wish me luck!!

Get some GSE (grapefruit seed extract), dilute muchly with water, then snort it. Do not use undiluted!!!!
Luck is what you make it. Set your intent and create it.

If the choice is between taking some pain medication, or eating cooked and feeling even worse, for longer--please choose the pain medication.
I really admire your honesty. Please take care of yourself, though. Whether that means taking a nap, going to go buy grapefruit seed extract, cancelling your trip, postponing your trip or taking some pain medication--take care of yourself.
You could possibly use this trip as a sort of detox spa vacation.
If you want to eat cooked, eat raw first. Drink water first. After eating a big salad or a piece of fruit etc, you will definately have more control. Pause to really feel your craving. What is it you actually want? Salty, crunchy, creamy, spicy, warm, greasy, sweet, gooey, something that looks exciting? Smells good? Really analyze what you want, and give it to yourself raw.=)
Have fun!

Put a bunch of cayenne pepper & lemons in smoothies also. Or just drink some lemon/cayenne juice. Cayenne is a huge mucus buster, although the GFS extract should do the trick.
For the headache, dab a little rosemary oil on your temples and where your third eye is (the spot between your brow). Be careful not to get it in your eyes. Or put a few drops of rosemary oil in a pot, boil the water, put a towel over your head and breathe. ahhhhhh.

How bad does your head hurt? The GSE is a solution. You may dance for a few seconds but that's all.

I have done this several times and not always with success, however, this is like the book 'You Can Heal Your Body' - I suggest googling 'Metaphysical causes of illness' and it will give you a possiblity for one for a headache and then a positive affirmation to help. In my opinion, I think everyhting happens in the present moment, which is why positive affirmations can be effective. I am pretty sure the one for headache has to do with feeling guilty for something in the past. I encourage this method because it may seem "out there", but it isn't always so far off! Take care!!

I don't know if you're in the US or not, but if you are, go right away to Walgreens. They have a nasal cleanse pot there called SinuCleanse. You can also google online for netti pot and you will find information there.
It does not hurt! You mix a solution with pure sea salt (about 1/4 teaspoon - but you may have to play around with it) that matches your body fluids. You place the nozzle of the pot in one nostril and the water flows through your sinus passages and cleans all the gunk out. Whenever I feel a twinge of cold coming on, I use it right away while I'm in the shower, and I've never had a sinus infection since (sometimes the virus gets me down other ways, but at least I can breathe and sleep! And so far this was before 100% raw, so hopefully, my immune system will be boosting in the years ahead...)
You can do this once in the am and once in the pm when it's really bad, but about once a day after that - it can dry you out too much if you do it too much...
I really hope you try it. I feel so bad for how much your head must hurt when there's a non-chemical way to find relief!

I second Patsy's advice. I Googled natural sinus infection remedy yesterday and sent my hubby on a mission to purchase the SinuCleanse Neti Pot from Walgreens. It feels mildly uncomfortable at first and for a few seconds after. Minutes later though I had immediate relief and could breathe feely. Second day using it I didn't experience any discomfort. I'm a convert. It really works!
The SinuCleanse at our local Walgreens came with a 100 pre-meausred packets of salt and baking soda.
I'm really happy that I found this natural alternative to antibiotics. :)

My naturopath suggested that If I did not want to buy a neti pot to use a turkey baster instead! That is what I used and it worked out fine.
