Zella Juice

We had our first Raw vacation. And it was kinda a challenge but not too bad.
We visited grandparents who live out in the middle of nowhere. The closest store is 30 minutes away. I packed all our food over there. Also, a juicer and blender. I made up some nut & date bars. Ran out of those fast. Then I discovered just sprinking a little cinnamon on apple pieces is darn good.
We didn't really have a sit down dinner until the last day. We just brought our own food to the table. I made salads with Kim Chee. We bought some spicy Kim Chee from our store before we left. It's raw but expensive. It's 13 bucks a jar. My son loves that stuff. I gotta start making it to save some money. I only hope I can make it as good.
We brought our own organic watermelon. And they had watermelon. I had to let it go when they offered theirs to my son. I didn't want to make a big deal out of the fact that they are not organic. People just don't understand the difference...even when I explain.
It was hard not to share with others...but I had to ration the food so it would last the whole trip.
So all in all ...it was a challenge..but we did it. And we will be even more prepared for the next trip. It was nice to have a long car ride and not eat junk food. I wasn't constipated like I usually am during long car rides.
I bought a soft cooler to put everything in. Those things are great. It's like a regular cooler but soft so you can squeeze it in tight places.
Traveling Raw can work..it just takes some planning. It's easier in the summer because we just took things like peaches, cherries and grapes to snack on. It's kinda like when you have a small baby..you gotta pack everything he needs for the trip.
