View Full Version : How many pounds of greens do you eat in a day?

One pound ?
Two pounds?
More or less?
Just curious as I keep pumping up my intake. Just not sure if I could ever actually drink 2 lbs in a day? Do you combine juicing/smoothies and chomping to reach your goal?

I never weigh my greens. I wish I could tell you the exact amount. Most times I plan to have 2 - 16 ounce green juices a day and most times 1 32oz green Smoothie.

I juice about 1/3 to 1/2 of a large flat of wheat grass. In my green smoothies (1-2 per day), I pack down about 2 cups of baby spinach, lettuces, or spring mix. And I use a spoonful of spirulina. Plus i eat a huge salad and/or some lettuce wraps. And often some celery. Still, I don't think that's even a whole pound. Because I buy one-pound organic boxes of greens at my Costco and that's a lot to me and lasts more than a day even giving my husband a salad. And a huge head of romaine is not even a pound, right? Anyway, unless i juiced a lot more (and my husband made more money) i really couldn't eat any more greens.

I eat about 3 oz (measured before making them into a smoothie). I guess I'm a lightweight. :p

I'm not sure as a weight, but I may eat half a big bunch of spring greens in a morning smoothies, have a salad or two with green lettuce and young spinach. I'll also have a glass or chlorella, spirulina and wheatgrass. Other green things include things like broccoli sprouts.

I'm quite green.

I drink 3 oz wheatgrass in the morning and 1-2 green smoothies a day. I follow a lot of victoria boutenko's recipes, 6-8 leaves per quart smoothie. I dont know how much that is, but it works for me.

I have about 5 - 10 cups of spinach, collards, kale, romaine or swisschard. I find they have the most benefit for me when blended into a smoothie.
