I'm in Sacramento and it's 107 degrees and climbing right now. It's 110 in the valley. We're smack dab in the middle of a heatwave, but can I just tell you I'm COOL. I mean I can feel the warmth of the sun, but its tolerable and I am not suffering at all. All my friends are moaning and groaning...asking me "Aren't you hot girl?!" LOL. I am not. This all because of being Raw I just know it. Woo hoo, another amazing benefit. My body is taking care of me and we are coasting along in this heatwave. I've been mostly juicing the past couple of days and I know this has probably helped also. I was not always like this...the old me would've been sequestered indoors with the air conditioner blasting complaining with everyone else. I don't even have the air conditioner on. RAW rocks. Woo.

Wow that sounds hot, RawHeaven!

Can you send some sunshine over the pond please - it's rained the last 3 days in the UK!

Cucumber and celery juice are fantastic when it is hot. Raw certainly does Rock!

Hi Crystal!!

That's fantastic! I have found that my circulation is killer (in a good way) and am feeling just dandy in the heat and cold, for the most part at least. :)

I just got home from a long bike ride in the hot sun and I was hot and sweaty. I got some cold watermelon out of the refrigerator and ate about 1/3 of a large melon and it refreshed and cooled me down so that I feel ready for another ride. I don't know of any food other then raw that can fix me up like that. :)

Thanks guys, it is fantastic! To be cool that is...not the heatwave.

Eva it sounds like you're enjoying the benefits of this too. Shooting Star it is pretty toasty and smoky in California right now. I just had some cucumber juice...you're right it is very cooling for the body. Cucumber juice and a cold shower = relief from the heat. :p

EZ rider, I think I'm going to have to go get a couple of watermelons. I'm glad you had a great bike ride. I agree, I don't know of any other food either that has the same cooling effect as raw juice.

Stay cool everyone.

Peace.

Me too! How I love the heat! I am in Mountain View, CA and It is 92 here and I laid out in the sun for about two hours today with dips in our pool in between. I am sure people are wondering how I can stand it out there that long.

I am from Chicago where the heat index can get up to 120 in the summer so I guess I am used to being all sweaty and the humidity. If you have ever had to work a physical job in a heat index like that you become pretty heat tolerant.

But before I went raw I wouldn't be able to sun bathe at all. My natural skin is white as a ghost and I never would go out in the sun when I was young because I would crisp up like a grilled lobster. Now I almost never burn and I am now able to have that "coppertone" tan I always envied when I was younger. I credit it to being raw and all those enzymes I am getting.

I just wish nude sun bathing was legal so I wouldn't have any white areas on me! :)

I am happy it's working for you:) 107! Gosh, I've been complaining about it being 100 where I am. I am not a hot weather gal at all. Even with raw I don't tolerate the heat one bit. I think it may be the estrogen problems I am having. I turn into one mean, grouchy women when I get hot! LOL Glad your keeping your cool in that heat. Enjoy!

That's cool you're able to enjoy the sun longer.

Have you considered going to Harbin? You can be as naked as a jaybird and no one will care. Then soak & detox in the natural hot springs, get a massage, eat delicious raw cuisine, do some yoga. Heaven. :)

Edit: I'm not a nudist. It's a clothing optional hot springs and it's nice to have the option to be free. Yoga and dancing and all of that - generally people are dressed. hehe.

Thank you Seabie. I used to be that grouchy beeeatch in the heat! lol. Now I'm cool as a cucumber. Now I know where that saying comes from because cucumber really does cool you down. Corny but true.

I used to be a real heat hater!! After being raw for 7 months I am learning to like it! I am very surprised at myself!

I hate the heat. HATE it! Hopefully when I make the big switch (this week!) that will change. I love sunshine, but just can't stand the heat one bit. I think it was like 86 or something today and I was just DYING. I'll be really happy if I start raw and it becomes tolerable!!

I'd give anything for a proper American summer this year...I've been standing around in the rain wearing a jacket and freezing.

Yeah, this is how it is in San Francisco in the summer where I grew up. Freezing cold in July. They've been having their own heatwaves too though as the glaciers continue to melt. :(

I hope some warm waves come your way soon in the UK.

86? Wanna come and visit me? It's going to be 110 tomorrow. We have dry heat in Cali though...it's not too humid which makes it more bearable. It's probably the humidity that is killing you depending on where you live. It will get more tolerable...seriously try the cucumber juice. It works! Your dogs are adorable!!!

We are having a cool summer with most days staying in the upper 50's and 60's. Next month my husband and I are going to the interior of Alaska for several days and during the summer it gets quite warm into the 80's. Alaska's temps feel considerably warmer than what is actually measured during the summer probably due to the sun being so high all summer. I am hoping that the warmth won't bother me as much as usual this year. I have never been able to enjoy our summertime visits because of the heat. Here is hoping that raw will help me out this year.
