OK, I mentioned this on a couple of threads, but I'm so excited that I have to share with all of you. On 7/4/07 I saw Alissa on the Tyra Banks show and found her information intriguing. I spent the next couple of days scouring the internet about the raw food lifestyle (of which I knew absolutely nothing about) and on 7/7/07 I began my own raw journey. I lurked here for the longest and then felt compelled to join this wonderful community. I did really well for several months and then started hitting some bumps in the road. But I could always come back here for encouragement and information. And the cheering, yes, that is such a plus. Everyone is so supportive. The basic message is always to just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try, try again. I can't thank Alissa enough for providing this (easy to use) forum to help all of us on this amazing journey of discovery, health, and friendship. I have learned an unbelievable amount from all of you here. I realized that I basically had no social conscience whatsoever. I knew nothing of animal cruelty, the dangers of eating animal flesh, the abundance and health risks of pesticides in agriculture, the need to back our local growers, and on an on...oh, I didn't live under a rock. These were all just news stories to me. I never dreamed how harmful it all was to our world and how I could actually make a difference. So this journey is much more than just a way to shed a few pounds or the means to heal a few ailments. It is literally life-altering. Cleansing, healing, and joyous. Thank you to all who have helped hold my hand through this first year of discovery and who daily assist me put one foot in front of the other.
And the journey continues.....
