View Full Version : Cant stop eating late!

I need some advice. I just started doing some serious juicing. I juice everything but the cow. My problem is I am trying to shed a few pounds and I have not. After 8pm is when it really hits even if i have had lunch earlier. Any ideas on how to kill the appetite and not eat late?

Try putting all/most of your daily supply of protein & fats in your dinner meal. Make sure its packed with things like nuts/nut butters, avacado, sprouted grains, & coconut.
Also, don't be afraid to eat a snack after dinner if you need to. make it something lighter that will digest quickly like a salad or fruit.

the late craving means you aren't getting enough earlier in the day, so eat more soon so you won't be so hungry later.
I have this problem too. I work evenings and have a pretty active job. When I get off work at 1a.m. I am starving, every night. I have tried everything and the only thing that works is self discipline. Ive tried nuts, avos, gs, juice, for dinner and inbetween, but my mind still wants food after work. I usually give in and eat even though I know its best if I dont. I always notice that during periods of not eating late at night I always have more energy in the a.m. and I dont gain weight. Hope someone has some better suggestions. I could sure use some help here too.

When I first started out I ate like a happy pig at all hours. And I released lots of weight. My body was always hungry because I had been starving it for years with my cooked vegetarian diet. When it was content with our new routine and finally getting sufficient nutrients to run it's engine, the nightime hunger subsided and I also required less food during the day.
You also may be experiencing false hunger and are actually dehydrated. Try drinking water when you feel hungry and if the hunger doesn't subside, treat yourself to a green smoothie or a piece of raw chocolate pie or a piece of raw fill in the blank. Don't limit yourself and don't worry about it. Eventually you will find balance.

I juice all day just had some tofu for lunch and Im full. Eating nuts and grains late is whats making me fat. Im 6/1 196 and need to be 185. I do NOT want to eat past 8mp the problem is I LOVE food. I once bit my finger eating a french fry. I think I will just have to start knitting?

Maybe try the knitting! Your hunger could be psychological. All the other suggestions mentioned above are good, too.

I tend to eat dates and nuts late at night. They are easy to grab at 2 in the morning. Fruit just isnt as satisfying when Im really hungry but I love it in the mornings. Im not overweight but my work uniform has been a little tight lately. Im doing gs and juice for a little while to shed a few lbs.

i used to waitress and it was a habit to eat when i got home. often because that was the first time i could eat. when i started working at a bar i ate a snake about 3 hours before i got off so i wouldn't be so hungry when i got home. i think part of eating late is habit. so you might have to "suffer" though some hunger to break the habit. if you keep later hours not eating after 7 isn't realistic. that's for people that go to be at like 10 or 11. if you're up until 2am then push that back 4 hours. also try drinking some water. if that doesn't help, have something small like half a banana. and remember that you aren't going to die of starvation from waiting to eat until the morning!

If you're eating raw...eat whenever you want to! If your body is feeling hunger and it's getting fierce....put something in your gob and chew. No matter what time of day it is..please listen to your body. (unless you get a tummy ache or something by eating late at night.) If you listen to your body...you'l lose weight. I swear. It seems illogical I know...I'm a late eater and all the better for it. It's the quality of what we eat and then the body repairs itself in sleep. Maybe there's a reason you want to eat at this time...

I agree!
I cannot sleep when I am hungry! I like to eat something right before bed so that I sleep well (I am diabetic and hypoglycemic). A couple of bananas do the trick. I have lost A LOT of weight and have never gone to bed hungry.
