A few weeks ago I posted a thread on finding yoga inspiration... and I got it...
Since I posted I got totally motivated... there's maybe been 3 days since then I've not done yoga since (heavy gardening days or bellydance performance days).. even got the husband to commit to doing it once or twice a week!
and Ordered alot of DVD's (giving thanks for ebay and half.com!)
Anyways I tried one of the recommended videos Yoga Beauty Body, Kundalini yoga... I had never done this type of yoga before.. well I love it.
I feel refreshed after it ... even though its not easy! Its very different and I think adding it in twice a week would really benefit me...
So any more DVD recommendations for Kundalini yoga??? And any books on it??

yogatoday.com sometimes has kundalini yoga.
(if you haven't heard of it, it's a free yoga website with hour long yoga workouts updated daily.)

The Kundalini Yoga one by Gurmukh. She does mostly prenatal yoga but she has one non prenatal one that is my all time favorite. It's just called Kundalini Yoga. She is heaven sent for sure. Her name is Gurmukh.

I can send you a whole list of books; I got certified to teach kundalini yoga a year ago.
The one I recommend starting with:
Kundalini Yoga by Shakta Kaur Khalsa (http://www.amazon.com/Kundalini-Yoga-Shakta-Kaur-Khalsa/dp/0789467704)
It has gorgeous color photos and lots of terrific information.
If you can find live kundalini yoga classes near you, I highly recommend it. You will get a different energy from having other people doing the set with you. If that isn't do-able, I second the recommendations for DVDs by Ravi Singh and Ana Brett. The instruction is top-notch and Ana has great form. Gurmukh's DVD is a winner too.
I wish you the best on your journey with kundalini yoga.

Here's a link to an excellent article from Yoga Journal magazine describing the different types of yoga:
http://www.yogajournal.com/basics/165
Hatha yoga is an umbrella term for the physical postures (asanas) and breathing practices (pranayama). Practices like power yoga, vinasa yoga, Iyengar yoga, etc. etc. are types of hatha yoga.
Kundalini yoga includes physical postures, breathing exercises, chanting, and meditation, so it sort of covers all the bases in one practice. :)

I keep hearing how great kundalini yoga is and I believe it, but I took one class one time and was disappointed with the inordinate amount of time spent chanting. My body really needed stretching and attention.
