Headline, in my newspaper today!! American Academy of Pediatrics recommends children as young as 8 be given cholesterol fighting drugs to ward off future heart problems!!! Too bad all those Moms and Dads can't figure out what is causing this!! I can't even stand it that my husband is on Lipitor! Sad day. :(

Those school lunches are gross! I read in the doc's office that the cheese has silicone in it to give it texture. Then it breaks down into formaldehyde I think.:eek: When I taught school we had french fries w/everything. They tried to cut the fat the last year I taught but I don't know how well it worked.
My kids loved pizza and spaghetti w/ranch dressing smeared on it. I still haven't figured out what the hamgurgers were made of.:rolleyes: They did stop selling sodas-that kind of helped.

They are. In my middle school we had a selection of spoiled milk, sour mayonnaise, and leftover sloppy joes. It's amazing any of it passed health codes. There's no telling how long that stuff was sitting around before they reheated it and slapped it on a bun.

I am baffled to this day how I managed to survive my youth. The human body is a very resilient thing.

That might be true if it has silicates. But if they are putting in actual silicone then somebody should file a law suit. The element by itself is highly toxic if ingested.

Many American children are on drugs to "control them" also...for example creative, high energy kids being put on ritlin and other type drugs. Ritlin is used to treat ADD. I've had "ADD" since I was a kid, but my parents and adults in my life didn't have this terminology to work with or someone telling them there was something wrong with me. I was just labeled as high energy & creative which is what it truly is - it's not a problem. Teachers and aduts simply fed me with activities and made sure I was fed creatively, not with drugs. We've lost it...drug usage today is pretty prevalent and it's pretty disheartening. Get involved if you can...for the children's sake. I've spoken at local community centers to educate parents and kids on the use of drugs and to seek out other alternatives like changing their diets and other healing methods -- acupuncture etc.

Saw that on the news yesterday. Also saw a related story about parents wanting the schools to provide better food. They showed a picture of the good food: a bin of pathetic looking iceberg lettuce, baby carrots, and of course, SAD salad dressing. I'll be packing my kid a lunch.

Oh it's not an expansion, it's been part of their plan from the very beginning when they started advertising drugs on TV in the mid 70's; selling their drug plans to MD's who didn't rely on them as much until then. They were feeding drugs to kids back then too...just wasn't publicized.

They want you to be sick.

They want you to have an unbalanced BMI.

They want you to unhealthy.

They = Pharma.

Anyone with half a brain can determine that giving someone a drug to halt a disease, only to have painful side effects, is ineffective.

I might blame it on incompetence, but then they started inventing diseases that don't even exist. My friend in college had ADHD which supposedly "distracted" him from "performing" like a normal person.

You know how a normal person performs? Poorly. You know how he performed on the days that he refused to take his medicine? He performed so well in just about every area of his life, he became my role model. To this day, one of the greatest mentors in my life was this supposedly "diseased" kid who could accomplish just about anything, when "they" said he couldn't accomplish anything.

It makes me sad to see all the kids in my neighborhood who are so young and already terribly overweight. What a terrible burden to place on a child. It wasn't that way when I was a kid.

Profit is the name of their sick game and they do not care how many lives they destroy! But more and more people are catching on and it is up to people like us to help educate other's.

As a child I was put on several drugs to help treat my "learning disability". When I turned 10 and was old enough to make some choices for myself, I got off all the drugs.
I choose to think of it as a learning difference, not a disability. It is so sad that doctors want to medicate all of our unique challenges and strengths away.

I have a learning disability, too. I refuse to learn anything about doctors or medicine, because I believe they are all quacks. I am completely disabled from using the current medical paradigm.
