Hello Everyone,
My reason for going raw is based on health issues. I was diagnosed with Auto-immune Hepatitis in 2003. The doctor wanted to put me on steroids which I refused. At the present time I have lump in my breast which I've been asked to have a biopsy by the doctors. I declined because I feel that they cause spreading. I feel that it was enought that I had a MRI, Mammagram, and Ultra Scan done on the same day.
When I was diagnose with liver Cirrhosis in 2003 I went on a Macrobiotic Diet and followed the (liverdoctor.com) diet and her main supplement for the liver. I stayed on it for a year although I hated the food. But I got very positive results to the point that my liver enzymes went back down to normal and I never took any over the counter meds and was never sick.
Nevertheless, I find It's very time consuming especially with the way that I work and the food is not tasty. I've become so overwhelmed with all the cooking and not being able to heat up the food because I don't use a Microwave. You can eat but so many Nori Sushi Rolls or Rice Balls which are just about the same thing. There was no seasonings recommended for Cancer and Liver Cirrhosis Diet, except onions, shoyu sauce, umeboshie plums, brow rice vinegar etc. No garlic, ginger or any kind of spices which they feel makes the liver active.
As with Macro you eat fruit only on occassion, and when you do it has to be cooked. Basically sweets are in the form of sweet vegetables. Also certain veggies can not be eaten, especially the nightshade ones. Fruits and nuts must be eaten local and I love tropical fruits and nuts. Macro is based on the Alkalin and Acid Theory and the theory is that raw fruit is acidic and certain veggies (nightshade), and that Cancer love and strives on sugar and acid combing foods. I do believe that you can't combine all foods and that some things you don't eat together.
Well as you can see this diet seems to be the opposite of a raw food. My main reason at the present time for going raw is that I'm starting on 30 day Juice Fast to assist me in the (Incurable Program) by those of you who may be familiar with Dr. Schultz from (curezone.com). I was wondering could some one give me some ideas for helathy juices that will substain me. My other issue with Macro was that I was always hungry as veggie don't stick with me so I'm kind of terrorified when I think of juicing for 30days with no solid foods. My intention is tht once I've completed this program I would like to start on the a raw diet for life.
For those of you who got this far thanks for taking the time to read all of this.

Hi congrats on going raw.
I don't know anything about macrobiotic diets so can't really comment on the difference between that and raw.
for my basic juice I use:
- celery and cucumber as a base (about 2 sticks of celery and 1/3 - 1/2 cucumber)
- some kind of green leaves (spinach, kale, rocket (very peppery), etc), collards, bok choi,
- possibly a squirt of lime or lemon
It is quite bitter, so you can always add an apple or carrot to sweeten the juice until you get to love the pure green taste.
I don't juice sweet fruit often as I am limiting the amount of high glycemic food I eat. This is my personal preference - you don't have to do that to be raw.
You could also add to that basic recipe other veg, such as tomatos, bell pepper, green beans, artichoke, fennel etc.
I wish you all the best with your juice feast and for your health :)

An acidic body will:
1. Decrease the body’s ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients
2. Decrease the energy production in the cells (the body will have low energy and become chronically fatigued)
3. Decrease the body’s ability to repair damaged cells
4. Decrease it’s ability to detoxify heavy metals
5. Inhibit nerve actions
6. Make the body more susceptible to illness
7. Leach important minerals from mineral stores (the bones and organs) to balance the system eventually causing osteoporosis, fractures, and bone spurs
8. Cause cardiovascular damage, including constriction of the blood vessels and the reduction of oxygen
9. Cause weight gain, obesity, and diabetes
10. Cause bladder and kidney conditions, including kidney stones
11. Cause joint pain, aching muscles and lactic acid buildup
12. Cause immunodeficiency
13. Cause accelerated free radical damage, possibly contributing to cancerous mutations, and it allows tumor cells to thrive once they are growing
14. Cause premature aging
15. Make the body more prone to allergies, headaches, yeast infections, boils, canker sores, blood sugar problems, bursitis, arthritis and rheumatism, etc.
16. Aid in causing a person to feel overworked, and to struggle with anger, fear, jealousy, and stress!
Very important note: Lemons and limes are acidic. Normally acidic foods when they're digested leave an acidic residue or ash in the body, however once lemons & limes are consumed they actually become alkaline in the body! Which is one more amazing healing attribute to add to this natural super food. Very Happy
Hope this helped a bit. I recommend you look at their forum. I am registered as well.
