I really like Alissa's way of preparing food. Prepping twice a week so you don't spend ages in the kitchen.
How do you plan your food for the week? How do you organise your selves:
I'm thinking about preparing weekly
crackers
a dressing
a dip
some energy balls
some sprouts
then just having loads of stuff in for juices, green smoothies and salads as I'm not so keen on complicated main meals.
Do you think that would work - how do you plan your meals / food shopping over the week?

What do you make your energy balls out of ??

I don't have the exact receipe at hand but it is sesame seeds, dates, cacoa powder, carob powder whizzed up in my babyfood pureer and rolled into balls and dipped in desicated coconut.

I'm hoping to get into a rhythm where I make one bread, one cracker, one dessert, and one main course (like faux meatloaf or chili or sungarden burgers) for the upcoming week. And sprouts. The rest is just fruit and vegetables. I'm not in that rhythm yet, but I hope to be soon.
It makes sense that one or two days in the kitchen should be enough to get ready for the week.

On sunday evenings, I always do a big "chopfest" ! I chop up all kinds of veggies and raw nuts for my salads. I eat a huge salad everyday - usually for dinner with something else small. Having all my yummy veggie toppings and raw nuts chopped up ahead makes it SO much easier!! I also make sure i chop up some raw nuts for the salad and make up a dressing to use as well. The only thing i don't pre-chop is my tomatoes. I either throw on some cherry/grape tomatoes at the last minute or dice up a tomato real quick. seems if i chop them up ahead they do not keep well. flavor is fine but the texture i later don't care for.
I also do more chopping that sunday evening if i am needing to add to my frozen fruit supply in the freezer for my fruit smoothies. I make sure i have adequate supplies of frozen bananas as well as a few other fruits for my smoothies during the week.

For myself now..
I just get a bulk order every 2 weeks, freeze some, bag some up.. thats it. I eat pretty simple. Either juice, smoothies or whole fruit.
5-6 Boxes of produce keeps me going 2 weeks.. (am talking 20kg plus of oranges.. 5kg cucumbers.. 10kg grapes..this sort of quantity)
When I started
Of a weekend would make up a couple desserts
Usually ice creams and a cheesecake ... and usually a jug of Nut milk
Keeping organised and on top of your produce really helps.. check out EPPP's fridge/food organising thread..it is a lifesaver!! :D

This looks like a great idea. I would also make one soup and one snack (cookies or whatever). I think I'll always have hummus around though!! :D
I also have to make cooked vegan meals for my husband as well.. So maybe some of the stuff will be cross-over. I mean, maybe he will want to try whatever I am having! Never know: maybe one day he will want to go raw too..

I try to meal plan somewhat just so shopping is faster. I do the Sunday prep like snowy does and make nut milk. I ususally put a bread in to dry on Saturday though. I always have smoothie fixings and salad stuff. A dip, guac or salsa...and things for open faced sandwiches are always good to have on hand too. Muesli is a good one to have ready for a quick meal.
If I don't get a variety of choices I don't eat well...

Oh yes my H won't touch my stuff so half my fridge is full of beer and meat! And UK fridges are much smaller than US ones too which means there is even less room than you'd think for my beautiful greens.
Luckily he is very self sufficient and seems happy so long as there are things he likes to eat in the fridge that he can put together himself. I'd really struggle to work full time and cook two seperate main meals and make pack lunches as well.
