So from RFT I've always read that cilantro is great b/c it cleanses your body of mercuries. My neighbor told me the opposite...that in breastfeeding books she's read to avoid it b/c it releases the mercury into your bloodstream, and therefore is not recommended. WHAT???

Both are right. Cilantro is a strong detox for heavy metals. It releases it into the bloodstream from where it is laying in the body. The blood stream then carries it on to where it can be purged.

detox is like cleaning your house. it stirs up the accumulated dust in the process of gathering up and taking out the trash. but who would recommend never cleaning? - perhaps temporarily, for example when breastfeeding. I mean you probably would not start spring cleaning when guests were visiting either. common sense and timing are needed because it can really stir up the dust and make you feel worse before you feel better.

there is a second step to cleansing mercury out of your system with cilantro so as to not let it resettle in your tissues- use a binder like chlorella to bind to the mercury and carry it out.
