Well I'm finally not so broke these days that I'll probably finally order Alissa's book soon. I was wondering if it's also worth getting the DVDs and what exactly are on them? Is it just Alissa making recipes? Is it just Alissa talking about the benefits of raw food? Is it both? More?

Thanks

I feel like the DVD is worth getting. It's her and two other people talking about raw benefits and her making some recipes. I found it very inspiring and interesting.

i've seen the dvd and IMO it's not worth it... but then i already know how to prepare raw foods. if you don't... then it would be worth it. :)

Thanks for the replies. By the way, how many of the recipes in the book are high calorie? Since I eat about 3500-4000 calories a day I don't do anything that's less than a bare minimum of 500 calories and normally prefer to make close to 1000 calorie meals. How many recipes would meet my calorie needs? I find some books have tons of low calorie recipes which may taste good but are not worth doing regularly due to my high energy needs.

Thanks

In my opinion it's not worth it either. I love Alissa, and I LOVE her book, but her DVD I watched once and then passed along b/c it wasnt very useful in my opinion.

I agree with the other posts: if you don't know much about raw food preparation, the DVD is worth it. Although, I'm sure you could find ample video footage on youtube for free. I found the DVD annoying and very elementary.
