I have been lurking for a long time. I finally took the plunge and orderd the book and dvd and joined the forums. :)

I am not currently raw. I just feel drawn to this lifestyle though. I try to eat "clean". I exercise. I still have about 20 lbs. to go- but that is not why I wan to eat raw. Can't explain it - it just seems right.

I live in Michigan (Detroit area). Just heard of a group that is in Ann Arbor. I haven't been to any of the meetings though. Hopefully will meet some of them on this site as well as in person sometime.

Happily married. I have 4 kids, 1 son in law, and 1 grandson. Homeschooled my kids until last year. Now the 3 that are still in school attend a private school.

That's about it.

Welcome to the board, fellow Troll......I'm originally from Livonia but I escaped about ......well.....a long time ago....

I had never heard of Raw until I was given Alissa's book and DVD, so you're already a step ahead of me.

My kids are all homeschooled and I thank God for that! (Although I can't complain about the education I got back in the day at Clarenceville Schools....)

Welcome and join in wherever you see the opportunity!

I'm another escapee from MI ;) (Grand Blanc, by Flint) and a former homeschooling mom. Our 3 kids are grown and out the door, I homeschooled them all the way through, from my oldest starting K-garten at 4, to my youngest leaving last year for the Air Force Academy. What a priviledge it was to dedicate my life to their education and learn so many cool things along the way, too!! Now I'm dedicating time to learn health and wholeness for our "golden years". We're not that old yet, but the years just keep piling up!! haha!!!
Welcome to the boards!!! I know any encouragement or information you need to find as you check out "Raw" living can be found here. I have been raw for 2 months and can't believe how perfect it is for me. What a change from the person I was - someone who knew healthy choices and had information sticking in the cobwebs of my mind, but not following through - to a freed woman celebrating the choices I'm making for my health and loving the empowerment to choose what is best for my body. I wish you the best and come on back in for a chat!!

Well, I received the book and DVD last week while I was on vacation. I started the book right away and watched some of the DVD last night. All I can say is "WOW". Alissa makes everything sound and look so easy. Is it really??

Sweetgoddess: I have been reading your journal. Thank you for taking the time to write.

Hello! Welcome to RawFoodTalk! Congratulations on discovering raw, and whatever path that found you here.

To answer your question, I have found that raw IS easy. The rules are simple! :) :)

Cassy :)

It is definitely as easy as she makes it look. It is just "new" "unknown".before you know it, you will whip things together just like she is doing in the dvd.
Enjoy! :)

Many Blessings~
