I recently e-mailed a company called Melissa's (see melissas.com) regarding whether or not their Young Sweet Coconuts are dipped in formaldehyde. This is after reading here that many companies do this as a means of preserving them. Below is their reply.

Hello,
Are your young sweet coconuts dipped in formaldehyde? If so, is it possible to buy them undipped?
Thanks,
Andy
