I have been on a very low-calorie diet the last five months and dropped 40 pounds. However, I still have 50 to lose, so I decided to try the raw food diet. I've been on it for 3 days, and unfortunately have gained about one pound each day. Has anyone else had this experience, and if so, how was it resolved? Thanks for any responses!

Here's the deal. 3 days huh? Your body is transforming, starting to detox. Are you 100% raw? Also, why are you weighing? With eating raw, one doesn't have to worry about calories, carbs, weighing, etc.
I'd say continue eating 100% raw, drink green smoothies, workout and watch the weight fall off...

You should never weigh yourself every day! Once a week at the same time of day. You can weigh different at different times of day depending on if you just ate or not and how much water you drank etc. It's common for weight to fluctuate within a few pounds because of that. so stop weighing yourself everyday and just let raw do it's thing! and how your clothes fit is more important that how much you weigh.

do what feels right for YOU. it is totally possible to gain weight on raw foods. i did when i was 100% raw for 6 months. some people can eat whatever they want as a raw foodist and watch the weight fall off, but certainly, not everyone. everyone's body is different. plenty of people will tell you that it's natural to gain weight on raw and that your body is just adjusting/detoxing, whatever.
im just trying to add a different perspective to this for you. still, just do what feels right to you and be good to yourself.

I agree.....I am not one of those who can "eat anything as long as it is raw." I even look at a nut or too many bananas and the scale inches up. I have to stick to fruits and veges mainly with an occasional avocado.
Consider juice fasting?

I second this! I am the exact same way.
Congratulations on releasing all of that weight, by the way! While eating your low calorie diet, did you eat a lot of "diet" foods... like artificial sweeteners, diet soda, frozen yogurt, fat free dressings? I used to live off of that stuff. If so, your body could be detoxing all of that junk and possibly holding onto some water. No need to worry! Trust raw, trust that your body makes no mistakes, and you pay attention to how you FEEL!
And definitely consider juice fasting!

I completely disagree.
You have been eating a low-calorie diet for 5 months. So your metabolism has probably slowed down. Now you are feeding your body. Let it eat!!!
Once you've been eating raw for a few months... at that point if your body is gaining weight, then you can tweak things but come on... three days is NOTHING.
So eat raw, enjoy your foods and stop weighing yourself daily. I've released 130 pounds in 10 months... please... just relax and let your body EAT!

You body can go in cycles too. I've been mostly raw for over a month and didn't loose any weight and then this past week all the sudden 5 lbs gone. so sometimes our body is working on getting rid of something other than fat.

I have discovered IE (intuitive eating) which is helping me overcome emotional eating (that and lots of prayer) and lose/ maintain my weight while raw even after extreme low-cal dieting for the past two months (less than 500 calories most days). I am overcoming a lot through this and you can rest assured that if you eat raw and listen to your body and eat only when hungry and stop when full.... you'll be fine. Those 50 lbs will be gone in no time AND more importantly, you will have retrained yourself completely and food won't be the focus anymore.
