I have been asked to make raw foods for a family for pay. Is that illegal to do without certain licenses? does it make a difference if it is in their home or mine?

If you're selling it as a service I think it's okay, but if you're selling your food as food and not as a service then you do need your kitchen certified which in my state is a pain in the butt...have to have 2 sinks, use bleach, have a way to close the kitchen off from the rest of the house and guarantee that kids and animals don't go in there, etc. You could do it under the table if you had to...

Personal Chef's who Prep in their clients home require no license.
However you may want to get a catchy name and a bis license for tax, liability and insurance purposes. OR at least add umbrella coverage to your exisiting homeowners insurance, just in case.
