lately, drinking juice ;)
in general:
- making sure i'm getting enough greens
- making sure i'm getting enough sweet, salty, bitter and sour foods in my diet
- having yummy food on hand already prepared
- knowing what raw foods to substitute for certain cooked food cravings... not necessarily gourmet stuff, just balances of flavors/textures that i might be craving, or knowing when it's really a nutritional craving

The same way I avoid using drugs - by being laser-clear on what my long-term goals are....and by always having healthier alternatives ready. And by being prepared to say no in a polite and humorous way. ;)

You know what's helped me today?
Having RFT as my homepage, so as soon as I go online, it pops up, & I check in quicky before I do what else I was goona do...
Also, getting EVERYTHING outa the house that ain't raw makes a HUGE difference for me...sometimes my girl's raw with me, sometimes not....{gives me compassion on those with non-raw households to feed!}
Telling myself it'll be there later, (AFTER these 30 days raw, or howeever long my goal is) really helps...I used to allow myself to eat anything i wanted one day a week, then once every two weeks, then once a month...sometimes it led to DAZE of non-raw, sometimes not...
...but I don't do it anymore, I've decided to just set goals, & once that goal's been met decide then what to do next, knowing the healthier I get, & the more the weight comes off, the less I'll want that other stuff!
Keep LOTSA good food around! (& always bring some with you when you leave the house...MORE than you think you'll need!) make it your FAVORITE produce that will need to be eaten or it'll go bad!
Try at least one new recipe a week, even a simple one! Write out the ones you want to try, make a shopping list, keep it with you, & don't be afraid to try new things! (If they're expensive, ask for a sample? Some health food stores'll do that!)
Try at least one new kind of produce each time you go shopping! Good raw recipes with it, see what you have, & enjoy!
Don't take $ with you when you go out if you're tempted my drive-thrus...
(...or only take what you need for errands, etc.)
Put your pots & pans away...or better yet, get rid of 'em!
Cover the stovetop with a big cutting board!
Find face-to-face accountability! Call for support when struggling!
I could probably write out a bunch, but I'll save some for others!
These are some of what's working for me right now...
...Oh, yea, & take it one day at a time!!!

i say to myself, "okay. first, let's eat a huge salad/apple with almond butter/coconut date roll/insert favorite raw food here. then we'll think about getting some cooked food."
of course, after i eat the delicious raw food i am satisfied and no longer craving cooked foods! works every time.

Hrmmm....
FRESH SALADS
*laughs*
But honestly, when I'm craving cooked, a big leafy green salad topped with tomatoes, avacados, nuts and lemon juice ALWAYS hits the spot!

Spicy Spices or Chopped up Garlic on my salads with Avocado. This gives me the same feeling as cooked and I am left feeling satisfied.
