I've been eating raw for a little over 2 weeks now, although I wouldn't really call what I was eating before SAD. I was eating mostly veggies - very little sugar, having cut out even natural sugars including fruits, agave, etc. No preservatives either. Now I'm eating mostly fruits, green smoothies, avocado, nuts, seeds - I would say pretty darn close to 100% raw. And, I still have yet to feel the benefits I keep reading about! Matter of fact, this week I've felt unusually fatigued and now I'm getting lightheaded again... and even feeling foggy.
This was the whole reason I've been changing my diet over the past few months to begin with!
I'm sooo frustrated. Has anyone else experienced this? or have any suggestions?

Okay, what AREN'T you eating that isn't raw? And hello? Two weeks? Come on - give it some time. Your body is adjusting. Continue drinking GS's, eating all (100%) raw and in time you WILL feel the glow. You WILL eliminate weight. You WILL get the energy.
Two weeks? Holy Cow!
What did you eat before - cooked foods? Well, that my friend is a SAD diet. Most STANDARD AMERICANS eat cooked foods.
Granted, I thought for 28 years I ate well - was Vegetarian for that long and Vegan for 2 before going 100% Raw Vegan.
GIVE IT TIME!!!

Are you drinking enough water? Drink more water. It might help with the lightheadedness. Despite what many "experts" say, I know my body needs a lot of water, even on raw foods, otherwise I get lightheaded/dizzy. Raw foods also have lots of fiber, and fiber takes more water to digest. So drink up!

I too feel woozy sometimes. I am gaining more strength. Mowed the yard today. I eat about every 4 hours. Sometimes I'm not hungry but I still feel weak and dizzy so I get a little something to eat. Been at this about 4 weeks.
I guess it takes time for the body to adjust.:)

I'm over 3 weeks ALL RAW (again), and even though I've been mostly ON Raw foods for months now, I STILL find myself lightheaded, fuzzy in my thinking, fatigued, etc. I'm beginning to have moments of feeling better though.

Detox can do that. Plus, I agree with VeganForLife... it takes T I M E. No substitute for that! I also agree with her about Green Smoothies. OMGosh..
I've been drinking them every day even when I was still eating SAD. They DO make a difference!

Hang in there, and keep with it! I didn't really start to feel better until I took the plunge and did 100%. I did it for one month, and the detox was strong for me because of my past eating habits, so I caved in and ate SAD.

I feel my best when I'm 100%, even WITH detox stuff. Try to look at the positives if you can...and...consider trying 100% for a month and seeing how you feel.:D

And I'm starting Month Three of RAW, and I too battle fatigue, lightheadedness and occasional boughts of seeing double, as well. *laughs*

But I just keep reminding myself that when I was eating SAD food, I had 110x's MORE problems, and a few "bad" side effects on RAW (think: detox!!!) can't compare...

You are feeding yourself HEALTH... Stay in the race for awhile and then decide. :)

Also, I sometimes battle anemia, which lends itself to the lightheadedness... eating a big old green smoothie with almonds/spinach among other ingredients helps tremendously. Hope this helps.

My first two thoughts were to drink more water AND are you eating enough?

Alissa mentions a common mistake people make when they start raw is not eating enough and I know the first time I gave it a whirl I didn't eat enough and felt weak and fatigued.

I read about eating more in Alissa's book and then ate a lot and felt much better. So, along w/ lots of water, maybe you need to eat more. Best wishes.
