can someone please tell me if this is normal when eating raw? I used to get this when I was following low carb, and I knew it would be for one of two reasons: either being in ketosis or too much protein. But last night, I started having the metallic breath again, and I know I'm not going overboard on protein nor am I eating low carb eating raw. Is this just my body adjusting to eating raw? I don't remember having this before when I went to around 90% raw back in December and January.

been tested for that and don't have it...high blood sugar runs in the family, but I got tested, didn't have it and changed a lot of my eating habits and lost a lot of excess weight to prevent it...

livenraw, I don't know why you are having the problem. But my breath was just dreadful for about six weeks when I went raw. At the same time I was craving garlic like nobody's business. At the same time bananas left a really rotten taste in my mouth. Personally I think my body was detoxing from a fungus or parasites or something. It took some time, and a lot of garlic! but my breath is finally back to normal. Detox takes as many forms as there are people. That said, if it doesn't go away and you have other signs of an underlying health problem you may want to get it checked out.

Metal breath is a sign of the lungs cleansing.

Although it COULD be something else, it sounds like detox to me.

Cleansing of the lungs IS detox. One thing many don't know ~ no system works independently of another. Although we are treated as such we are not like cars where if one system ~ say, the transmission goes bad ~ fix the tranny. IF the lungs are bad, that is affecting the heart, which is affecting the circulatory system, which affects all the other systems as each supplies the other. All our systems are interconnected.

So! IF the lungs are cleansing that affects the heart which affects the ciruclatory system and on and on. It's a good thing.

Hey, that's good to know...that the metal taste is the sign of my lungs detoxing. I smoked for around 6 years and quite two years ago. So, it makes sense if that is what is causing this...I shuold have searched for this since I just posted a similar post myself...

Peace~Vanessa :)
