Okay so I've never done this diet before but I plan on doing it after the 4th of July. But I have some questions. First I want to start by eating simple foods then go into recipes. But I need to know what fruits and vegetables I can mix and eat together? Please help!

I started out w/green smoothies. Just spinach, an orange and a banana. Tasty! Makes a pretty color. Bananas make them creamy and not so watery.
Actually I used this as my breakfast before I went raw. My stomach wasn't ready for all of the different greens. I am kind of working my way up. I like green apples, bananas and avacado(They taste gross to me but they blend well in a smoothie) The apples really kill the avacado taste for me. I also did mango and kiwi for awhile. Just whatever I'm craving:) I did have to back off for awhile on some fruits/the acid is too much for my stomach. Hoping you do well on your journey!:)

Thanks for the advice! :) I'll be sure to try them. So you had nothing but the smoothies in the beginning or did you have whole raw foods too? And what whole raw foods should I eat together. I mean I read that there's certain foods you can't eat together cause then you won't digest it right or something? I need more info on this.

I would definatley recommend using Alissa's book (Living on Live Food) and following her program. I've been on & off raw & followed other recommendations & recipes and found them either too confusing or too time consuming.

Alissa's book makes it as easy as possible. She provides super easy recipes that don't take a lot of time and taste good. She provides a plan to keep your meals varied and yet not time consuming. There's structure, but also flexibility to eat what you feel like.

I'm finally seeing success with living Raw with ease.

Keep coming back here for support in the process,
Bri.

Exercise should be done at any time everyday - not just with raw food. Our bodies are made to move. Exercise is so beneficial on many levels. Raw food may even give you more energy and the motivation to move if you have been sedentary. It made me feel better so I could move too. Good luck to you.

I get the feeling (correct me if wrong) by this question that you think this is a temporary "diet" and not a lifestyle. It's not. It's a lifetime journey to better and better health. If you see it as temporary, then you're thinking you wouldn't exercise while on it? Movement is an essential for life.

As someone suggested, pick up Alissa's book and dvd's. So many of your questions will be answered. She's got menu plans, recipes, testimonials, and, a Food Combining Chart which will answer your first question.

Most of all, remember to play with your food, k?

You can do it as a temporary diet, it works for weightloss, but most people do want to stay on it forever because of the awesome way that it keeps them young or permanently gets rid of their health problems.

Yeah I know it's a lifetime journey. It was just easier for me to call it a diet. But I'm doing this so I can get a better handle on what I eat and how much I eat. Like you said to get a better and better health. Yeah I will be sure to check out Alissa's book and dvd's. Thanks for the advice! Much appreciated!

you may want to change your terminology then. cause calling it a diet will suck you into the world of "i can't have" instead of calling it a lifestyle or life choice... whereas you look at it as "i can have anything raw i want!!!" and "i choose to not eat cooked food" instead of "i can't have cooked food".

it really does make a difference as time goes on.
welcome to RAW!
