is there such thing as a holistic dentist??

so i just got my card in the mail reminding me to go to the dentist. since i have been making daily changes to weed out all unatural substances in my life (cosmetics, foods, the pill) i am wondering about the odd pastes the dentists uses-with those insipid flavors too! totally different from my aloe vera tothpaste at home. I have read a little bit about flouride, but only enough to make me suspicious...:eek: any help?

There are some who call themselves holistic meaning they wont or prefer not to do certain things.

Mine wont use flouride or do implants. He removes mercury and when he listens to me, uses 1/3 less novocaine than normal. He done some study of TCM. I don't find him all THAT much different but, I trust him a bit more.

Oh! Many wont take any kind of insurance either.

Yes there is! In fact, I went to one for the first time yesterday! They talked to me about nutrition (and allergies) and how your whole body is mapped out in your teeth. I got a chart that matches each tooth to an organ.... pretty crazy. Generally holistic dentists oppose root canals and don't use fluoide. FINALLY a doctor who know fluoride is bad and supports my decision not to use it. Rather than treating your tooth as a piece taken out of a picture, they treat you as a whole person. It was a wonderful experience and I even got a warm neck pillow!!!! I've found that western medicine and dentistry are in it for the money, paid by pharmaceutical companies, or dont do their research.

I finally found one and am now mercury free. Over here dentists are not allowed to advertise so I had difficulty locating one but persisted.
