My barley is sprouting for this recipe - yippee - but I noticed the recipe calls for 1/2 cup of chili powder! Is this really so? Thanks for taking the time to answer. I sure appreciate all your help.:)

Yep...that's not a typo. Everyone thinks that when they see that! LOL.
But thing is, it makes a HUGE batch of chili so what I usually do is cut the recipe in half. But yeah, it has a GREAT flavor...I love it! Make sure (if you can) to make her onion dip and when you prepare a bowl of the chili, top with a dollop or two of the onion dip (as if it were sour cream)...talk about delicious! Mmmm

Rawkinlocs, thanks. That's a relief - I had to check that out before going any further with it. And I am definitely going to make the Onion Dip too - just have to find some macadamias. Have a great day!

Good for you! Let us know how you like it. Also, if you can't find macs, cashews work just as well...that's all I actually ever use when I make the dip.
Oh, and just a word of caution...I've seen it happen a few times here on the board where people mistakenly use CAYENNE or chili pepper (or something they end up using that they "thought" was chili powder) instead of actual chili powder and it made the chili unbearably HOT! So be sure and make the distinction or else!

Okay Rawkinlocs. That's just super to know that I can use cashews instead. I just bought a big batch. As for the chili powder - yup, I know which is the right one. Thanks again. I so hope I will like this because I have been drinking an awful lot of Green Smoothies this month simply because I am not well organized enough and haven't been attempting much in the way of recipes. But I just love what raw food is doing for me and fully intend to get really serious about this. xxoo.
