I've been reading a lot of conflicting information about what is safe and not safe as far as herbal teas during pregnancy and bf'ing.

Has anyone had experience with this with their own pregnancy and bf'ing? I have a box of traditional medicinals organic pregnancy tea, and also got a pregnancy tea mix from a friend today with similar ingredients. To tea or not to tea?

As far as teas go, I would definitely recommend using a pregnancy tea that uses the combination of herbs that has been put together which seems to support a healthy pregnancy. I do know that the red raspberry herb tea, or even better, the herbal extract of Red Raspberry is super fantastic for pregnancy. I have used lots of RR extract for all three of my pregnancies.

For nursing...I have used the Marshmallow herbal extract with much success. By the way, the marshmallow is far from those white fluffy things that some people may toast over the fire. ;) Also, there is a tea by traditional medicinals (I think) that is called Mother's Milk.

I see no problem using teas. I would say go for it. Just don't go eating or juicing lots of parsley during nursing or you'll dry up in a hurry. I speak from being taught that but, also from absolute experience with that. It works without a doubt.

Nettle is also supposed to be very good. High in iron and calcium I believe. I think you can drink mother's milk tea during pregnancy but double check to make sure :)
