I just harvested some cauliflower from my garden and although it is mostly white in color, there is a bit of purple around the outer edges. I've never seen this before in the store or farmer's markets and this is my first year growing it in my garden.

I'm wondering why it would be purple in color? Perhaps something in the soil or are there types of cauliflower that have a purple tinge? I am at a loss and wonder if it is okay to eat!

Any ideas would be appreciated, I am in the Seattle area and grow many types of veggies in my garden each year. This is my first year growing cauliflower though so I have nothing to compare this to!

yes , some caulis ARE purple - this means they have the GREAT phyto nutrients that white caulis dont have!!!!!!

There are also a peachish/orangish type of cauliflower that I have seen! They are all so beautiful.
