hi.

im planning on doing a watermelon & grape only fruit-fast for 3 or 4 days starting tomorrow. im worried, however, about moving my bowels by doing this. will it happen? ive never even tried a fruit fast, but ive been eating crummy raw foods, an oxymoron i guess, for the past week & feel like i need one. i just get nervous about getting "backed-up."

I would think the fruit would keep things moving just fine!

HI!! I'm actually going to try to do a watermelon fast today (well I've been doing it all day today), and so far things have moved well. I definitely feel like I'm getting LOTS of liquid ;-)

I think summer's great for friut fasts because your body doesn't seem to really need a lot of heaviness to feel happy and there are so many wonderfully light fruits in season.

Fruit has also never really backed anything up for me, it's usually the opposite.

HAve fun!!!

i wouldn't worry about it at all. it's only 3 or 4 days... and you are doing fruit juices... i can't imagine it would be a problem.

IF you have any trouble... when you are done your fast... juice a bunch of apples and drink it down. that'll get ya movin'

I did a grape fast several years ago and had no problems in that area, even though I was very prone to them at the time (eating SAD). For me, it was grapes in, grapes out :-) I don't think I was chewing them well enough!
