Does anyone use an Oster beehive blender for green smoothies? I've been using a borrowed Vitamix and needed to give it back. Right now I'm using an Oster 14-speed and it's not handling them well. I'm used to blending up two smoothies at a time in my 24oz Vitamix container, and I'm finding that the blender really can't handle more than about 12 oz -- it sort of bogs down and doesn't really blend. Plus it has that burning motor smell. I blend carefully in stages and all that, tear up the greens small and chop up the frozen bananas, and add extra water, but it's just not really up to it.
Having had a Vitamix, it's hard to go back, but I'm considering getting the Oster beehive because I've heard it's very good for smoothies, and that's all I need it to do -- don't need to make nut milks or nut butters or grind sprouted wheat. And they're approx $60. So, does anybody use one, and can it handle a full container?
They look like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B000LSY890/ref=dp_image_text_0?ie=UTF8&n=228013&s=hi
Thanks!
