I got this from www.highvibediet.com (http://www.highvibediet.com/2007/11/brownie-batter.html), and it is FANTASTIC!
Brownie Batter
3 oz dates (about 9-10 deglet noor dates)
1/2 C soymilk (or alternative)
2 Tbsp. hemp protein (or rice protein, or soy-free veg booster, or whatever protein you prefer)
1 Tbsp. cocoa powder (I prefer dutch-processed)
4-6 oz spinach (may use tougher greens, such as kale, for part of the spinach)
Blend. This works best in a Vitamix, as always. Soaking the dates for an hour or two ahead of time will make them easier to blend if you're using a normal blender. This drink is very thick (almost like brownie batter); I sometimes eat it with a spoon. It's also very rich and intense. If you want more of a chocolate smoothie/shake, then add more soymilk or water and perhaps some ice. Start out with 1/2 C extra liquid and 1/2 C ice. You could also add some raspberries or strawberries, or even espresso or peppermint extract (as mentioned earlier), if you wanted. Let your imagination run wild!
I used 3 medjools and some stevia instead of the deglets, 1/4 cup macadamia nuts and 1/2 cup water + ice instead of the soymilk, and I used Nutribiotic rice protein instead of the hemp, but it would have been good that way too!
So good.
