I don't know what to do, I'm constantly freezing. I eat lots of nuts so it can't be that I eat too little fat. It's so bad so I'm even considering eating cooked food just to get some warmth from it (even though I know it doesn't work that way).

How can I get warm?? Anything foodwise that I can think of? or avoid? anything!

thanks in advance!

Something that works well for me . . . in a cup of warm water put some ginger juice, lemon juice and a bit of agave nectar. A sprinkle of cayenne will also help and is suprisingly tasty!

Exercise! It warms up your blood.

Also how long have you been 100% raw? Once you detox your circulation will improve dramatically. I had very cold feet, bad circulation for many years and it was one of the first things to go away on raw.
Best,
Alissa

Olive: will try that, it sounds delicious!

Alissa: I've been raw for 20 days (2 cooked meals during this time). I had no problems with being cold before going raw though...

Rawkinlocs: thanks for the link to the thread!

Hi Tanja,

Dr. Doug Graham said he struggled with being cold when he first went raw, and said this is normal, but in time he no longer has problems with tolerating the cold. He lives in the Florida Keys and has no problems of going to England, with 60 degree weather and sleeping with the windows open.

I've also seen pictures of Steve Arlyn, snow skiing in the buff, and pictures of Jinjee & Storm, along the ocean in Canada, with snow on the ground and they are in swimsuits.

I don't know if it's true for everyone, but apparently it's normal to feel cold but eventually this will go away.

Hang in there. Like the suggestions above, exercise, dress warm and give it some time.

Even though I'm not 100% raw, yet, I finally got over the cold feet and hands.

Helen,

I've heard of these types of testimonies too. The Boutenko kids in their book "Eating Without Heating" mentioned something to this effect of being able to swim in icy cold waters and it not bother them.

I, too, used to suffer from being cold all the time (doctor's said it was anemia) but since having gone raw (even when I wasn't 100% for any period of time) I notice that I no longer have that problem and in fact, sometimes I have to ask everyone in the house, "Is it just me or is it kinda warm/hot in here?" and sometimes they'll say it's just me! And no, I'm not having hot flashes...much too young for that! :p

Hi Rawkinlocs,

Isn't it neat, all the things we overcome when we eat raw? Something so simple (yet hard to do) like eating the way we were meant to, corrects all our physical problems? :)

So glad you are over the cold feeling. It's so nice not having to put my cold feet on my DH, trying to warm myself up.

From my understanding the thyroid drops production when going raw, which will cause coldness (your thyroid is your bodies thermostat). Eventually it balances out and you should experience warmth. However, I would montitor it - I wouldn't let it go on for too long.
I have a thyroid problem - so I know how the cold chills feel. I find while eating raw, I wax and wane - I have brief cold spells but then long warms spells. I'm still int he early stages of being raw - so I'm hoping it balances itself out.
